Actually most people in this industry would see AirTran and SWA as pretty similar operations that should integrate well. Both fly the same equipment on the same type of routes, except AirTran brings a little Intl exposure to the table.

that's because we had the most to give the JV squad coming on board but they wanted more than they were entitled to so fights on until GK and Herb got tired of the foot dragging by the job killing machine ALPA and but the major beat down on them.......now they seem to see the light and understand who is running this company.......and it is not ALPA.

Have fun flying the deluxe RJ or if your in the 73 have fun getting the PDC and calling for push........please vote no......please

Actually, Airtran is THE international airline of the two being merged. The SWA pilots are still confused by the extra workload added to them with the introduction of VNAV, autothrottles, flight directors, autopilots, autobrakes, and the FMS. This ain't just EL Paso to Hobby anymore! You now also go to Islip!

I lost track of the latest count but I think it's around 70 cities. Now the largest domestic carrier is adding a bunch more with this acquisition. Despite what the General/OY6 says, it's a little more than El Paso and Houston. But that's OK, keep competing (slow taxis, "can't do attitude", etc) like we are not an issue.

This a good example of incredabily immature CRM skills that would, in fact, be bad enough to cause a safety problem and attract the interest of the FAA.
I seriously doubt that very many SWA pilots think this way, but if they do you guys are in for a rude awakening.

Why everyone doesn't have flynvixen on their ignore list (along with oys, Gen, and others) just boggles my mind.

If an indicator in the cockpit is giving you erroneous information, you verify it's bad then disconnect it and put a little yellow sticker on it that says "ignore this light, it's not telling the truth". Yet here, there are people intentionally giving bad information just to upset others, yet you can't figure that out.

Do you spend the entire flight arguing with that bad indicator? (This goes for anyone that isn't smart enough to have half a dozen people on their ignore list.)
