I posed this question on another thread, but it's a serious question and I thought I would start a new thread for it.
This seems like political suicide in the making! If the MEC were to present an AIP to the membership with less money, less protections and less seniority, they will literally have to move far away to escape the hate mail and flaming doo-doo on their doorsteps.
Now that the 7 on the MEC made that decision, the real question is what will get their vote to forward the next one?
Obviously, SWA has made clear their decision to take all economic incentives of the table. SWAPA has made clear that there won't be any movement in ALPA's direction. The only chance for a negotiated deal is one that is better for SWA pilots. Will the MEC, though, be willing to present a deal to their membership that has far less in terms of economics, less protections for trannies, and possibly less seniority?
This is not meant to piss anyone off. I'm genuinely curious...and concerned.
