The story goes that it originally had a peach on the tail too. Unfortunately, it looked like a butt and was painted over in solid blue. Anyone know the truth and or have a photo?

The story I heard was that 3 winners of ASA employee of the year or whatever got to help design the Georgia commemorative CRJ. Well they came up with the Atlanta skyline, Stone Mountain, and the peach. Now, if you look at the winglets you see an orange band that curves. From the proper angle, the winglet would blend into the peach. We will never know for sure if this were true because as soon as they rolled out the airplane to the awaiting crowd, someone mentioned how the peach "looked like a hairy a$$ crack". Well back to the paint shop it quickly went to have the tail painted with whatever paint was available. Bluebonnet's tail was painted the same in some sort of "solidarity" to quell the original story of the ATL CRJ.

No doubt, some of the best times at ASA!

Cheers- Rum

Not to disturb your rant but I believe he meant was that many many years ago St Mt was a well known meeting place for the boys in white sheets.
I agree that the race card has become vastly over used to the point of the boy that cried wolf, eventually people stop listening.

BTW, the remarks on the ATL ramp aren't justified as there are many good hard working people doing a hard thankless job in the wx for little pay. I was once an ATL ramper and don't fit any aspect of your diatribe.

This one time.... in band camp......

Who gives a crap? If the guys in the white sheets used to meet in the square, should we burn the whole town down? Who the hell gives a rat's butt?

The modern view of the Civil War is hopeless.

Didn't know we had a plane with the confederate Mt. Rushmore slathered on it.

How long have you been here now???? What, a month, maybe???? Not long enough to see it.

Have you ever heard the story of "Slider 2"???? That was it. It snapped a right main trunnion on landing almost 6 years ago and slid down the runway on the right wing.

Have you changed you meds yet or do you find solace in giving frivolous rants. The town of St Mt is a diverse town now and is doing very well from what I here.

Also, yes you are still a sick SOB for your NAPALM "joke".

I thought the debate was about the carving on the mountain, not how "diverse" the town adjacent to the mountain is..... I guess we can all bank on what you "here," very reliable....

Blah, Blah, Blah,...... I'm mean, I'm racist, I think flaming kids are funny-whatever. That is not a joke, it is actually a quote-from a movie. And yes, it is funny-I don't care what you did at band camp.

Almost.....

It was the left main, not the right. Slider two actually refers to the secound Brasilia which landed gear up due to training people "experimenting" with some breakers......

I have also heard that term used to refer to the plane ND landed with the parking brake set-endlessly funny!

Sorry, wrong side. Now that I think about it, you're correct, for the Air Stair door wouldn't open all the way down due to the lack of incline and the drop out of the Service Door was a little steeper than usual.

I thought Slider 1 was the Brasilia. My mistake.

Good Deal...

Most of the time, the detail gets lost in the repetition-probably the same as what you heard, just got mixed up before you heard it......

My favorite incident involving an airplane skidding aimlessly down the runway was the Brasilia and ND..... That guy was a total anal freakshow-to the point that he would clean every instrument and gauge on the plane-even in flight. This all lead to problems one day when he was flying a Brasilia. That moron went and actually CLEANED UNDER the parking brake! That meant setting the brake in flight. Wouldn't you know it? He forgot to release it before landing! This-of course resulted in the tires blowing immediately on touchdown and the plane skidding to a stop on little half-moon rims! What a jackass!

I can understand many innocent mistskes, but that is one I could never wrap my mind around.... Why in hell would you want to clean the area under the parking brake handle, and why in flight-for God's sake? What a total fool! They of course promoted him to system chief pilot and some type of VP position after all this-no kidding. He even has an airplane named after him!

-Go Figure!

In the middle of reading your post, I was just about to reply half way through about the plane being named after him thing.

While he wasn't exactly liked by many (I didn't have an opinion), I do find it disgusting that his dedication plate at the entry to the aircraft has been vandalized numerous times. The man is dead, end of story. It's totally wrong to scratch Hitler mustaches all over his face.

Did you mean halfway? Because the "f", "spacebar" and "w" on a standard keyboard are nowhere near each other, so I know it was not an error.

Also, were you halfway through the middle, or were you only going to give the original poster half a reply?
