I interview soon, any input advise from AWA or US AIR pilots.............anybody else have an interview?

Don't believe most of the crap you read on these boards. I actually like my job at AWA and have been very happy with the people, plane, and schedule. I think better pay may happen sooner than later. Show up positive with some good scenario stories and you should do fine. Good luck.

I agree. There's a lot of acrimony right now, but it's still a good place to work with a lot of potential.

Good luck with the interview.

inquiring minds want to know how you got your interview... we're you a recall, former AWA poolie, or did you just apply a couple weeks ago...

most people I know haven't heard a peep yet about interviews.

All, true. Don't make a career decision off all the ranting and raving you see on here.

Look at the facts not the emotions.

I think once this current storm blows over, things are going to get better a lot better.

Once some people out east come to their senses......

You might want a few Snickers bars though. This could take a while.

I think my resume got looked at the Air Inc job fair in DC this last weekend....got a call within two days........applied on-line 20 hours prior to call...i was shocked.....

Is PHL and CLT Jr?......PHX would be nice....I would imagine thats Sr..

PHX may or may not be senior. Their is also openings in LAS. By spring we will be short 14 FO on the bus. All in all it is not a bad place to work. I enjoy 99% of the people I fly with. Every airline has its share of people that just hate their job and want to make everyones life around them miserable.

The interview at AWA is the past has been very laid back. I would assume not much has changed. Be honest, have go over the scenarios in your head and enjoy yourself. Let us know how it goes.

One thing be glad for is no Van weey sim profile.

Didn't know that US Air was still around. Thought that they changed the name to USAirways a few years back. Get the name wrong in an interview and lights out!

Just messin with ya.

Sheeeeshhh... I'm getting tired of being that !%:D

Great group of people, pays so-so, flying in and out of PHX all day is like being semi retired, especially if you flew commuters up and down the east coast or midwest during the winter months year in and year out. Best wishes in your endeavors!!

cactus is the call sign of the new carrier, why we aren't all using it now that we are on the one us airways certificate is a mystery. Tempe HQ is probably going slow, trying not to ruffle the East feathers more than they already are. I bet you'll se us all using it next year.

Hmmm...still developing. The latest unearthed gem was this quip from Dougie:

Doug Parker speaking to a three year America West Pilot complaining about post merger stagnation, February 6, 2007.

"The stagnation of growth, for America West Pilots since the merger- what I will tell you is, and this is a hard thing to communicate with people, but I believe it with all my heart. If we didn’t do the merger with US Airways, you’d be in a lot worse position. Frankly, I think as a three year F/O, you wouldn’t have a job."

This thread isn't about that Trainer8, time to move on.

Any new hires on the west will be slow going but if they're under the West contract, will have better pay and work rules.

Any new hires on the east will have rapid movement but will lack in pay and duty rigs.

This will change when there is a combined contract and when that is coming is anyone's guess.

I thought "Cactus" was going to eventually be the call sign of the merged carrier. No?

Supposed to be ,but the "easties' were whinining about that, too. Unfortunately for us, 2 of their own are in senior management positions where they'll be able to prevent the "Cactus" call sign from ever seeing the light of day. Pretty pathetic bunch we inherited.

As an *eastie*, I see your point. My personal opinion is to create a new culture all around..to include a completely different call sign. The public doesn't care what it is.Why not vote in a new one and get on with the rest of the hurdles.

Tooslow... What they said. This is an OK place to work. Lots of transition going on, etc. Still two call signs, etc.

It's a good place to work, and will get better.

Regards.

REMOVED

I've been here several years and have only flown with one jerk. He wasn't even bad enough to put on my no fly list. I've heard all the A-holes are on the A-bus.

Go about halfway into the video where it is made clear absent this merger the plan was liquidation.
