Latest rumor, the guys on our 1 token CRJ are on reserve next month. All of them, because they will be doing difference's training in October.

Flame away

I think they are all on reserve because there is no scheduled CRJ flying at XJ next month.

I've been on reserve for a while. Am I going to Saab 2000 differences training?

;)

seriously? no CRJ lines for XJ. so does taht mean CRJ crews get a month of vacation?

It'd be fun to have ready reserve without any lines.
List of things to do on airport reserve with no a/c to fly:

1) Clean crew room bathrooms.
2) Fold blankets in sleep room.
3) Make fresh coffee.
4) Re-arrange all the v-files.
5) Re-arrange bag tags on flight cases.
6) Count ceiling tiles.
7) Count floor tiles.
8) Start a seated massage business for other crewmembers.
9) Check all chairs/sofas for coins.
10) Surf Flightinfo.com for hours. (Don't really need to be on airport reserve to do this.)

Others?

Anyone just hear on the alpa conference call about the 5 crj guys going to instructor training because the company is planning a full flying schedule in Dec.????

How about killing all the mice and rats running around in the MSP sleep room while folding the blankets...

A full flying schedule for what aircraft? They already have a full flying schedule with the 49 Saabs.

Do you guys have crew leasing language in your contract? Its possible that Mesaba might lease a CRJ with crews to Compass. Compass is on the NWA schedule to fly IAD-MSP turns in October.

i love rumors. what is NWA doing about all the flying Mesaba is going to dump when we liquidate? will all those cities just not get service anymore? will there be a dc 9 going to st cloud? alpina? devils lake? brainard.......you get the idea. oh wait, i thought NWA was increasing flights.......wait, compass is starting up.....but they cannot recall pilots for it......roll up your sleeves, get ready to fight. stand strong people.

Heard it. Sounded like ALPA knew nothing about it. This is the same ALPA that is under multiple confidentiality agreements at the present time.

I just heard through another person, that the Watertown airport mananger was told that they were not to expect to have airline service over the holiday season... Call their bluff! Give 'em hell guys!

Sounded like the Mechanics union was scheduled to meet with the company soon to talk (conference call)? Just wondering if I heard that right? And does anybody know if the Mechanics had the same philosophy in place as ALPA, "don't show up unless they are willing to back off the 19.4%"? Curious to hear if the company is serious about getting an agreement or if this will turn out to be another waste of time.

As far as the confidentiality agreements go, sounds fishy. From what was advertised about the meetings it was supposed to be about how bad things are at XJ and how soon the money is going to run out, so why would they want everyone to keep parts of that a secret? You would think they would want the unions spreading the bad word around to their members.

It's like what my now long gone FO rep told me when all this first started. If the union reps start taking jobs elsewhere, it's time to run if they are staying then things aren't so bad.... From what I can tell there have been quite a bit of reps leaving for other options.

Im just curious how many people signed the confedentiality release and listened to what was said from the company last week. Was it just Capt. Wychor and the ALPA lawyer or where most of the reps included. My gut is telling me that the union leaders are starting to get a taste of whats going to happen with XJ, but they can't tell anybody. "picked a bad week to quit drinking"
Wouldn't surprise me if Management told the unions we are going to run this thing to the brink of shutting down to scare some more people out of here but an 11th hour save is a good possibility. and Oh by the way you have to keep that a secret.

If you think about it they have us were they want us. Top 25% percent of the seniority list is being threatened that they will have to commute soon to DTW if they are not already doing that to fly the Avro. 25-50% have already been down graded to SF-340 captain and the pay cut that goes with that. 50-75% of the list has been in the right seat for 4-6 years and the bottom 25% of the list is furloughed and won't get to vote on a T.A. All Im saying is a meet in the middle T.A at the 11th hour to save XJ has a pretty good chance of being passed if growth is tied to it.

My question I should of asked in the conference call is also so what if we survive this round at XJ. What is big ALPA doing so that 5-10 years from now we don't go through this again. I know most jobs are not secure anymore in the land of the free. But knowing every 5-10 years you will have to endure this kind of stress about the future of your job makes you just kind of want to pull the plug now on this career.

If they can seat lock all the senior guys in the saab and take a 5% paycut; 76 seat for 50 seat pay, you will get a lot of airplanes. That's a much better deal than compass.

What seat does a 1991 hire hold today at XJ? Wishing you guys the best.

1991 Hire date makes you between number 69 and 76 in the company (ballpark). Last re-alignment notice bumps most of these people out of MSP Avro CA slots to DTW Saab CA.

Also, a union rep told me yesterday that only Wychor and maybe 2 others attended the confidential money talks with the Company on Friday. No new negotiations are scheduled.

Flightinfo is turning into a bad soap opera, lots of rumor and talked about action, but nothing ever happens.

The cities will still get service because 9E will do the runs. Just like Rhienlander! Brainard? We already go there!
