I know it doesn't mean much to you but as a CAL pilot, I can say that you shouldn't take that group as representative of the rest of us. It's really embarrassing to be associated with them (if it's true). My vote is in as "against" ratification because I believe that we can get a better TA. My...
I think his message is good although I'm not sure that it's "incredible." This TA falls short in areas that I think is possible to tune up (tighter contract language, pay to at least match Delta's, retro pay that doesn't reward delayed negotiations, etc.) so I'm going to vote accordingly.
LEC 153 seems to be in touch with the majority of pilots that I've spoken to. At CAL, we have a history of taking the first offer that's presented to us. For once I'd like to see our group have some self-esteem and save the "yes" vote for a more appropriate TA.
I think I missed something. Let me get this straight, Fred is egging people on to vote against this contract?
I agree with chppr5 on "voting on the merits of this contract." As far as the perceived "seat grab" that some UAL pilots think that the CAL guys are after, I can hold captain now but am...
I'd rather walk out of this job on my own terms. If I don't go on strike (when it's called for), then I'll get outsourced. The decision to go on strike is an easy one in my book.
Ten to eleven days off in the 756 for July. And that's what those of us who are around the fifty percent bidding seniority are getting. We'll need more than the 147 to end this bs.
That was one where a diligent passenger noticed. It makes you wonder what slips by un-noticed. I know of a flight attendant who forgot about a gun in her bag. It made it through the x-ray machine.
Hey, that's better treatment than if you're an employee. The impression that I get is that they only hire people who hate people as gate agents. At IAH, my experience is that they're 90% nasty. At EWR, it's 50%. Ymmv.
I wish that were true. This is the fruit of our EWR reps who as far as I'm concerned are the true leaders of our union. Jayson, Tara, and Kaye have done a lot to re-ignite the pilot group. It's a shame that our other base reps don't seem to have the passion or ability to do the same. Through...

Man, that Marine story is unbelievable! For those who are offended by the FUPM acronym being tossed around, I'd just like to say that I find actions like the one from the Red Coat way more offensive. Absolutely disgraceful!
I've heard that the floor beams kept getting destroyed during gear retractions. They had to redesign it resulting in a huge weight increase that negates a lot of range capabilities. At the moment, it can't do Newark to Hong Kong non-stop.
I think he's saying that you need to "walk a mile in his shoes" before making any assumptions. Many of the X-Jetters that I've spoken with have told me how X-Jet has better work rules than CAL. Keep that in mind for reference when you hear CAL pilots "whine."
As ATRCA is one of the guys being...
It won't save money. The furloughs are an attempt by management to get CAL pilots to cave on our scope. CAL is paying for a frikkin' parking lot at a Florida airport for one exec that costs about the same as what the furloughees would have made in a year. This isn't about cost savings, no...
I think you missed the part where he said that he's in the 777. It's a totally different CAL experience than the other fleets. I certainly am not in favor of PBS, but it's definitely not as painful in the 777. Jmho.
