We have Smart Parts and the MSP for engines and APU on our 300. Havent had a problem with it. I just had 4 main tires replaced and put them on SP. We pay a yearly fee based on about 200 hours. I send in usage times every month and they look at the total at the end of the year. MSP is a...
It took us a month and a half because of a certain FSDO inspector. He even commented how he had been tracking us online and seen that we were climbing through RVSM. Blocked the aircraft after that. Jerky.
I know you wouldnt do it, but make sure you dont fly/file in RVSM without the LOA. When we were getting approval for the LOA last year, we had a few trips on the plane. We filed low, but requested climb through RVSM and always got it. When I went to pick up the LOA, the inspector said, "you...
Great aircraft. I have been flying them about 5 years. We are taking ours to Europe next week. The rudder sucks on it. Ailerons are small. Crosswinds suck. But it climbs like a beeotch. Performance is great. We take it out of a 4200 foot strip along with two other 300 operators. Our...
yeah, no kidding!! Imagine if you did that in Teterboro. You would be very busy. My last thing I say before takeoff is "trims, speeds, flaps and gas...probes, strobes, lights and CAS" hahaha it works, trust me.
I dont know the 135 regs, but still dont see how you have to go to a new initial. I didnt fly the Excel for over 3 years and just went to a recurrent and it satisfied the regs...but it was part 91. FAA rule are like golf rules, we will never know or understand them all.
Vis. is the controlling factor. I am corporate now, but when I was at the airlines, we just had to have the vis by OM, or FAF, so most tower guys knew this, so they didnt tell the vis if we were close...as long as we had it prior.
At Wachovia, we didnt have one. I interviewed at a large chemical company in Delaware last year, they sponsor a rainbow colored car in Nascar and their driver's name rhymes with Heff Jordan. Theirs is 60. Dont know how they came up with that. I know another company that has 65.
Here is another idea cherches. If you work as a PIC on a type rated airplane and fly as PIC AND you have an SIC that is not PIC qualified..you can go to the FSDO and talk to them and they will renew it on the spot. This can be PT. 91, I used to do it when I was employed at Wachovia. We had...
Ouch!!! I am in the category also of just getting the wind down when they are already on notams!! Of course I have a hard time listening...well at least that is what my wife says.
Thanks Cherry. Boy, talk about a thread Hijack!! Where the heck did union vs. non-union come from. Yes pilots can be let go, fired, adios amigos WITHOUT an obligation to be hired back. Hard to believe, I know. It is no different than working at a bank and getting canned for poor...
