Good stuff here. Only two things though. The Captain is the boss of the flight like or not and he/she does get to decide who operates any giving leg. Other than those pionts your spot on!
Thank you for your coments. I look like an idiot too buy the way. No offense to female pilots. I was just trying to have some fun at your expense. I flew with two female captains in a 747-200 as an F.O. and they were among the best sticks I have ever seen. Cheers:beer:
Yeah I got an idea. Get the company you are apply for to pay for you type. Its people like you who drive the wages down for the rest of us buy being so willing to cover your own training cost! Are you telling me you want pay for a rating without even knowing if you have the job? Save your money...
Not true! I sent in a resume and was called within 2 weeks for an interview. Unfortunatly I was bording a plane to operate out to eham. I didn't make it back for 17 days. When I got home the class was filled.
Chill out dude! He is right it does happen. I have had a dozen or so flame outs on the old cj-610's. Fairly common on those old lears and a couple of engines go south on me in the MU-2,a Navajo, and a couple on the 747. As long as it's not right when you rotate or your on fire it really is no...
Holy chit man Dont do it!!!!!!! It's too much to handle!!!!!!!!
Just Kiddin. The nose is a little heavier thats all. Bigger engine and stuff.
Have fun!
I'm sure that happened and I hope any Captain would use all available tools at his disposal in any emergency situation. That is the whole point of the CRM concept. I my self am just so proud of the way this crew handled there ordeal. It is a shiny bright spot in a otherwise dismal time for...
I have been in this situation as a F/O before. Try to grin and bear it. It just SUKS! Just be sure when you are a captain you have dangerkittys attitude. You will get alot more out of your F/O when he/she feels like a valuable member of the team regardless of there experience.
Well said. This is exactly how it is. And just to add one more element. At most on-demand gigs you only get a small weekly gaurentee. At my 135 gig we got 600 a week gross just to be on call. I'm not complaining about it it is just the way it is. So if things are slow you don't make much money...
This is excellent advise. I could not agree more. I have been to a coulple of funerals myself of some fantastic airmen. Just remeber this type of flying will require your best all of the time. And don't think it is different in the large transport world either. Flying non-scheduled part 121 can...
Yeah the classics will autoland in the sim. But those wore out P-10 panels usualy don't do to good once you get to flare mode. But you already know all about flying a classic don't you! What a jerk. This "story" he's talking about was probably one of his own landings.
Yeah sounds like you had a bad landing there dude! Are all the pilots at your company that bad? Just remember if you land one of those Polar 74 Classics that hard you probably will do some damage. You Scab!
