I have a friend that flys the Falcon for them and he says he sometimes spends about 19 days away from home. Just sitting in a hotel room waiting for dispatch to call with a trip. Would kinda make it hard on the family life.
I flew for them last year.
Formerly known as Texas Air Charter, or National Express (National Freight).
They are based out of Denton.
Runs were DAL to ICT,OKC,TUL,ABQ,LUB,AMA,SAN,AUS - I'm sure some of this has changed.
You should be home every night.
As far as I know they are now only...
Glad to hear that you made it down safely. Good job handling the situation.
I once lost an intake valve on a Navajo when I was a freight dog. I had sprayed oil all over the left cowling and had shut the engine down before it did itself. Once safely on the ground I first inspected the oil cap...
I prefer glasses.
I went to contacts several years ago, and they were great until my eyes got infected from wearing them. Contacts turned out to be a pain in the a$$ FOR ME. My vision actually deteriorated from 20/25 to 20/100 in about 8 months time. After several doctor visits and switching...
I have a Lowrance Airmap 300 that I bought when I was a Freight Dog. It works great! It has the extended runway centerlines, lake, highways, restricted airspace, etc.
I don't use it any more and have considered selling it.
Go to a hobby shop that sells model cars, airplanes, etc. I was looking for the same thing back when I was instructing and I found a C-150 plastic model perfect for teaching purposes at a local hobby shop. It is the same kind you used to put together with glue & paint when you were about 12...
Having flown and flight instructed in both aircraft, I prefer the C-172RG. Mainly because my students had previous Cessna 152,172 time and I found it to be an easier transition for them to the Cessna RG than the Arrow.
Both are fine training aircraft though.

My CFI certificate is up for renewal and I am considering my options.
Has anyone used any of the online Flight Instructor Refresher Courses, such as GLeim or American Flyers? If so, what is your opinion of it?
Thanks for the input.
There is a Feb. 1 class which starts on Friday. I also, received the phone call to go. Evidently, they are giving out the base and aircraft assignment over the phone for this class too. I was assigned DFW EMB-120 and am looking forward to it.
...based in Kansas City.
DAL (Love Field) has 2 freight operators, Projet & GTA. At one time I know they were hiring guys with VFR 135 minimums (Don't count on this now).
Flying freight is some **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** good experience and you will learn a lot.
Good...
I am hearing 2 inside RUMORS. These come from a new jet captain who has recently been around the training center.
RUMOR #1: They will be hiring real soon. Possibly next month. I wouldn't get your hopes up though.
RUMOR #2: The recuiting department is re-evaluating everyone in the pool...
When I was carrying cargo out of Dallas Love (DAL) I would see one of SKyways Shorts come in every once in a while. But, I do not think that DAL was a base for them.
One of my stops was at Will Rogers (OKC) and I know they had several of their shorts on the ramp there. So assume that OKC was...
