My thoughts went straight to you Mike when I saw the story here on TV in Australia.
I'm so sorry about the accident-it's sobering and saddening when something like this happens-another pointer to the fragility and preciousness of our lives.
My thoughts and feelings to the family and friends...
Thanks for the input.
Like I said first up just speculation-but it seemed like an 'odd' sequence of events.
Again, thank God the pilot got it down safely with no injuries.
I'll wait to see how the report comes down.
Matt
Just some mention of the mixture being somewhat lean and was wondering if any postulations on that being a factor?
I'll wait to see what eventuates.

Here's an NTSB link to an accident on May 7th when a C182 went down in Arizona (thank God no injuries).
Not wanting (in ANY way) to persecute anyone and at this stage it's pretty much speculation-but I'm interested (from the point of view of learning) in views as to what went wrong...
Shheeesh you guys criticising Timebuilder for posting are really wasting your energy and time-just ignore the thread if you don't want to know about it, think it's not 'interesting', think TB has a big ego (rather than being genuinely excited and sharing) or just plain want to whine at someone...
In Australia it's considered a boat so does away with a whole range of legal and insurance issues.
In the specs it details its operational wave height range.
Seems like there's a working proto of the small craft and plans to develop a larger one-application in areas like Australia's Barrier...
Australian aviation newsgroups are saying UA862 which diverted to AKL enroute from SYD to SFO after CAT injuries to crew and PAX is now strnaded in AKL after aborting the ongoing journey to SFO twice. Saying there is damage to the wings.
Anyone know anything about this?
Regards
Matt
I received a hoax e-mail today from the 'Microsoft Security Update Center' with an .exe file attached along the same lines.
Anyone using Internet Explorer go to:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/critical/q316059/default.asp
and download the latest security updates to patch these...
