Oh don't worry, they wont have a problem finding pilots to fly their corporate jets.
I'm sure they have issues like any big department, but 99% of people reading this thread interpret it as a few laid-off, disgruntled pilots (signing on with multiple user names?) that cant move on.
Every large...
They all poach them from indeed etc....never pay for a job site. The majority of junk they drag up are long ago filled, reposts, or ads simply filling the HR requirement.
Best to network the old fashioned way, actually get to know people face to face as much as possible.
The vast majority of...
Face to Face.
Email/message board networking is weak at best.
See if there is a good time to stop by and get 5 minutes of his/her time to introduce yourself and leave a resume. Then when you follow up on occasion (a few times a year) your name/face are remembered. Don't drop by unannounced...
Anyone can get those numbers or better....$2 off Signature? That's still like $6/gal at many places..... 30% discount off FSI retail? Falcon care starts at 30% off for simply signing up.
Can I "manage" your junk?
:)
I'd not worry about Peru and I'd never hire security you didn't know. Bring your own or don't go there if its that risky.
I know a few planes that have been damaged by handler supplied "security" in South America. Best plan is just to have the handler keep you in a high visibility area. The...
furloughees? recalls?....
Behind all the "I'm so sorry" and "it was a hard decision" BS is usually an Aviation Manager who is THRILLED to finally be able to clean house to his liking.
There's a reason they usually cut deep then hire replacements within a year.
This, especially the Reservoir rec - but be very, very hungry. Huge portions.
Mexican - Chili Willies just up the road from The Reservoir.
Jersey Mikes - bland food but works in a pinch, think Subway. They now have lunch service at the center. Salad/soup/sandwich typical stuff.
Marriott Rt10...
with 7 years already in I'd personally stay put...maybe in a few years you can eliminate the commute?
You know what you have at your airline job, but you have never flown corporate ever. Might be a hard adjustment?
Large corporate is not 100% stable either. From what I have seen guys with...
This.
Flew learjets for 3 years and Globals for 5 years. Never had either lose a trip and didn't find any issues with product support. No different than any other brand.
Sounds like more Grumman Internet Turretts Syndrome.
:)
No, actually the vast majority do make that pay range.
Also, much of the Fortune 100 isn't as competitive as you may think, and often pays on the low end (but may appeal to some for other reasons)....and don't even get me going on the talent from the 89th. LOL.
I actually agree with you on the...
Well, not quite.
Most of my peers/friends who fly Gulfstreams/Globals/7X etc make between 150-225K. No...not rich by any stretch...but getting by just fine. Some newer guys may get abused at 125K'ish but they usually move on pretty quick...like any profession, there's an experience building...
Exactly. Find me a Cessna that pays 200K, stays mostly domestic, well crewed, great owner/company, great schedule.
You won't. Its going to be a Gxxx/Global etc. and to line ALL those up is fantastic...but fairly rare outside the internet. 99% of jobs have some tradeoffs, one way or another...
Now wait Mr G100 you don't wanna go here....you're the only male I know who drives a freaking Saturn.
Pulling up in a Saturn to fly an Astra may be enough to end it all.
:D
Hate the career?
Its a pretty easy job compared to many out there. It won't make you rich but I can't think of another career with more time off. That time is invaluable when it comes to raising a family or running a side business (or both?)
I am also lucky I have meet very few...
