I'll be trying to return to the US from the London area on 7/21 or 7/22, and am trying to figure out if there will be any cargo flights that might help since most of the passenger carriers are looking like they'll be full. I'm not too picky with which airport I fly into or out of.
Of course it...
Yea, pretty bad. That said, at the top of the scale their payrate is higher than FOs at:
GoJet
Colgan
Lynx
TransStates
Mesa (Dash FOs)
They tie with FOs at Pinnacle (CRJ).
And pay $1/hour less than:
Republic
Piedmont
Mesa (Jet FOs)
...That's what's pathetic.
Hardly enough to make up for the furloughs.
I know us flying in ATL and CVG causes heartburn for some guys at ASA, but the argument that if ASA was doing the flying instead of OO would have prevented the furloughs isn't holding.
Regardless, I wish ASA could have found some flying to compensate...
Here is a misinformed quote from you written just today on another GoJet thread:
GoJet was fully staffed for the aircraft it had on property when the LOA was voted down. GoJet starting operating in the summer of 2005 as a separate list without the TSA pilots having any say. The vote that...
Here's some intelligent conversation:
If you go to work there, the vast majority of airline pilots will have little respect for you.
If anyone wants to debate this go to one of the dozens of other threads doing so.
You have a recall number, so maybe you're unconcerned with the possibility of...
My favorite part: the number isn't open 24 hours a day. I learned that the hard way.
A couple weeks ago I was jumpseating on a 6am (eastern time) flight. As I was walking to the gate I called the number, and got a recording saying to call back later when they were open (I think 6 or 7am central...
You guys still got the performance money despite the mx meltdown at the end of March? Did they just throw out the numbers from those cancellations?
If that's the case, that really says a lot about Brad and the new management culture. I knew things were slowly changing on your side, but that...
GoJet pilots have had a huge effect on the lives of TSA pilots. This has been discussed and debated ad nauseum.
It's not technically a "scab ops," but just as bad. They exist as a separate pilot group to serve as a whipsaw. Being unionized means nothing. This also has been discussed and...
I (and everyone else I know who is former or current waterskier) would like to disown you. Your opinion is not representative of the rest of us.
We can have this same old stale debate over and over again, but in the end we all know where you stand compared to the rest of us.
The TSA pilots...
This coming from a GoJet pilot.
"I suggest you look at your situation and do what makes sense for you." That's the kind of warped justification many people who went into GoJet as street captains have. Same with those who cross strike lines.
Sometimes short term pain (willingness to stand...
Only a couple companies have had any sort of growth awarded to them recently. Pretty much everyone else is furloughing and/or taken concessions.
While not desirable, being stagnant is pretty good considering the current status of the industry.
...and don't take for granted that your...
Shhhhhhhh!
...don't inject logic so early in a thread that is bound to be at least 5 pages of
-Why we should have voted ALPA in
-Why BHO is not a true raise in payrates for the 700/900
-Why a larger W2 as the result of soft credit is not as good as a higher payscale
-Why the pilots are...
