I have my last interview (phase 4) on July 6th. During phase 3 we were told we would be starting class on July 19th. Does anybody know if you must accept that class date only or if it can be delayed a month or two? I know they are having several more clases this year.

Thanks!

Well, if they ask BEFORE you're hired then tell them you'll start right away. If they ask AFTER, maybe throw your question at them then.

I had to delay

I interviewed on Jun 1st and had to delay my class date as well. They were very receptive and helpful about it. My reason was an active duty military commitment, but they did allow me to delay a month. Good luck.

They would probably like you to start ASAP as we are really short on FO's. As a matter of fact they have slowed down the upgrades a bit to catch up with the new FO's. If you have a problem though, I'm sure they will try to help you out. Just rememeber that seniority is everything. For me the furlough cut off date was only 3 months.

It sounds like someone wants to know what to do about their wedding/honeymoon plans.
If it's not you getting married, don't delay the class. If it is you getting married, be straight forward with whomever you're going to ask to bend, and be willing to accept their answer. Neither party is obligated to bend in this case, but IMHO both should, if at all possible. Don't delay it for the honeymoon, again, ask both parties to work with you.
For almost no other reason should you even consider delaying class.
If I'm wrong, ignore me.
Good luck with the interview.

Seniority is everything. Take the first class you can get and reschedule whatever you have planned. In the long run one class can cost you big $$$$ as well as important quality of life issues.

Depends on why you want to delay. I delayed 1 class from June 22 to July 12 and the first thing Dawn said was that is 30 places on senority. My daughter had H.S graduation on a Tuesday and they couldn't let me leave for the day. They did allow the move though and I leave on the 11th.

Somethings to me are more important in life, so I made the choice. I will still live, and I will still fly..

Just one class?

V-Snap,
I'm curious..was it just one class between june 22 and July 12th? I'm slated for the July 19th and figured that there was a class per week (except for maybe the July 4th weekend). Thanks.
