Its about time we compile a long running thread of people that left Mesa under less than favorable circumstances. Either got fired, forced to quit, refused FMLA, etc. The stories are out there and as I understand Mesa has over 600 new hire pilots this year alone. These pilots need to know what has happened to those that came before them. Don't believe for a second that JO can be reasoned with, or that his mgmt team is anything less than 100% down with his plan.

I know a good guy just recently was forced to quit because he was refused FMLA with a new born child on the way. Maybe he can tell that story if he reads this board. I know his firends do. If he isnt too busy runnning the pub maybe he can share his story with us.

The stories are not all new either. I know a guy that was fired from Mesa back before ALPA came around. He was a new hire and saw JO at the airport. This pilots sole screw up was he asked JO when they would start geting more than a nickel a mile to fly. JO invited him to come over to the office the next day where he was personally fired by JO and Risley. He ended up at SkyWest after that and last I heard is now a very senior Captain over there.

Most of them went to Southwest and America west and some to Jet blue

Your a jack-a$$. Yeah six hundered plus pilots. Do you think they fired that many come on. Your an idiot. Weve taken on 50 or more rjs in the last year. Bringing our total rj fleet to 125+ And most got hired. I cant think of anyone off hand the got fired. Expect for the chick in ROA, and some drunk pilots. Which every airline has that.

Back in 99...

Scheduling called the police to help Jr assign a trip.

Scheduling called a pilot to be jr ssigned, the pilot did not answer the phone since he finished flying and the next day was his day off. Being the concerned company tht Mesa is, they called the police requesting someone drive to the pilots residence for his wellbeing. They knew he was home but he wasn't answering his phone, he must be in danger.
Police go to the house, pilot answers the door. Police call Mesa back to tell them the pilot is ok. Mesa replies Have the pilot call crew scheduling he is notified of being jr assigned.

Here's another, JO had private investigators watch a crew crash pad.
Short story.. Female in the crash pad outside smoking, notices guy taking pictures of her from car. She tells drunk roomates about the man in the car. Drunk roomates sneak up on man, (a PI) break car window grab man. Man spills guts about how he is working for Mesa.

Having worked sked at both a regional and a major, I cant imagine doing either of those things - if you cant get someone to answer the fone fair/square, just move on....

I never said 600 got fired, but just keep reading this thread.. The stories about mesa are out there. It is about time we compile them on this board for everybody to see. Yeager you must be one of those new hires I am talkig about.

And eveery airline does not have drunk pilots flying around and chicks stalling jets at 50 ft AGL.

Lets see. HP, ASA, AMERICAN, AND CHQ. That I know of, have had pilots fired because of being drunk. You want to start talking A/C crashes, I dont know of an airline that hasnt had at least one that was because of pilot error. And furthermore and till that 1900 crash. That was the only fatal crash that mesa has ever had. I would be very careful what you say. Carma is a dangerous thing.

There's actually quite a few large airlines that have not had any crashes or fatals. At least one I know of goes back to the 1920s.. And its Karma with a "K" if you believe that sort of thing. Whatever floats your boat man.
