Some of the senior ones that I fly with make in the mid 80's Granted to do this they are working 140 hrs a month and are never off. But what else are they to do to buy all of the Cat food.

I know. We had a FA not want to comp drinks and movies yesterday. Had a two plus hr mtc delay and the CA wanted to comp the stuff. Lead FA did not. Fact is that she does not have to if she does not want to . I guess the FOM states that it a mutual decision between the CA and the OBL. Needless to say it was so that she could get her Ginsu Knives if she sells enough.

That is not what I said. It is what she stated. Needless to say the CA made quite a stink about it. I figured it was time for my bathroom break!

However, the article reads "Corporate Flight Attendants", not "Commercial Flight Attendants". I'm sure those from NetJets and private corporate aircraft make much more. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it makes sense to me.

Sounds like some widget Captains need to grow a pair.

Flight attendants

Job description: Provide personal services to ensure the safety and comfort of airline passengers during flight. Greet passengers, verify tickets, explain use of safety equipment and serve food or beverages. Corporate flight attendants will earn the most. The top 10% of flight attendants earn $102,660 a year, while the average annual salary is $62,880. The median annual salary is $61,120. Florida is the top-paying state for this occupation.

Actually, it says that corporate flight attendants will earn the most. There aren't too many corporate FAs that "verify tickets". The article lumps all FAs together but singles out Corporate for making the most. It sounds like the author is using old data from pre-concessionary contracts for his "facts".

I emailed the guy:

Thanks for reading the story and sending your comments.

I used the salary numbers available on the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Web site here www.bls.gov/oes. You can see how they arrived at their figures on the “frequently asked questions” page. Question No. 21 is where I started.
