Howdy,

I just took my FC1 the other day and had a question. I passed every part of the physical including the eye exam within tolerances except for one part: NEAR VISION. My near visual accuity is 20/30 in each eye correctable to 20/20, my distant visual accuity in each eye is 20/40 correctable to 20/20. I fall within the limits for refractive error without a waiver (at least that's what the eye doc said), but I'm concerned about the near vision. Can you get a waiver for near vision? Anyone have any information about this?

There are waivers for everything. Never accept a "no" answer. your vision should be fine. If someone tells you it's not, ask for references to regs, ask to see another doc, go elsewhere, but do not accept a "no" answer.

Thanks for the advice, I haven't heard anything yet on any official lever or non-official for that matter. I'm just trying to educate myself in case I do run into problems.
