Maybe if I had paid vacations and sick days the first year, and the salary doubled after the first year (I can kinda sorta see covering training costs....no, that still doesn't justify it). All I can say is they'd better have some fast upgrade times, which really wouldn't surprise me, and some really good captain's pay, which really would surprise me.

That job is posted fairly often. Probably a reason for that, too.

These companies will continue to f()ck us pilots as long as some @ss clown accepts jobs for wages equal to a that of a Chinese sweat shop...

I wish someone would take a ad out in the New York Times advertising the pay scales of all the regional and commuter pilots so the general public can see that the guy in the front of the airplane who has there lives in his hands makes less then the guy who just served them there Big-Mac fries and healthy soda . What do you think Johnny public would think about flying then??

It sounds like better pay then a regional airline job.

That was my point. You hit the nail on the head.

I believe ExpressJet's ALPA already used this tactic... I saw the full-page ad, but don't remember the newspaper. What I don't understand is what you try to accomplish with this. Do you expect the passengers to call up the company and demand that pilot salaries be raised? Or do you hope that the pax will be frightened and go fly on the competition, thus costing the company revenue, so the pax can fly on another carrier where the regional pilots are paid equally badly?

I don't think it's in anyone's best interests to scare off the flying public. When they type in dubya dubya dubya dot travelocity dot com they don't care whether you or I are paid as much as we'd like. They care if they can get themselves to where they're going for the least amount of money. Period.
