I am currently flying for a 135 cargo outfit doing on demand flying. I really enjoy the work and the schd isn't that bad. We are on the road for 19 days and 9 days off. I am 25 and not married so it suits me just fine. I am currently getting PIC time in a large turbo prop (50+ hours a month). The pay is also good.

I have an offer to work for a corporate flight department flying in their Citation 550 and some flying in the Barron. They said that they would match the pay from my current job and they said I could expect the type rating within six months if I perform like they want me too. The operation is part 91.

The schd seems to be on call 24/7 with every other weekend off. They fly about 40-50 hours a month. I know in need to ask the questions such as how much pic time could I expect and how soon.

My goals are Fedex, UPS, or Southwest.

Any thoughts?

If it were me I would stay were you are at. If the corparate guy's were offering a type with P.I.C. assingment from the start than maybe it would be worth it. But I have heard alot of promises from corporate departments that never came true. See were i'm going with this don't you? Considering your goals I would say you are better of where you are now. Just my opinion though. What are you flying anyway?

I had the same offer about four years ago. Consider the right place at the right time. I took the job in a C 550 with a promise of a type rating six months later. Now I serve coffee in the 727 at FDX.
Good luck

Thanks for the replies!

Currently I am flying a Shorts.

Found a little out a little more about the company. They have a C2 C5 G200, Citationjet, and a Baron.

They are saying one year before the type. I can understand their saying that since I have no jet experience.
