How many people out there have interviewed with skywest recently?

Out of those that have are all of you going straight to the pool, or are some being offered class dates immediately?

Does anybody know how many are in the pool?

What is the wait to get from the pool to class?

there are approximately 65 or so in the pool. my friend is interviewing in a few weeks as interviews are ongoing. most new hires to EMB. the new hires into the jet for the most part have high time. i think EMB are going into a pool, jet maybe not, but not sure on that. hope that helps a little.

I interviewed at the end of april and was placed in the pool for the 120. I have no idea how long it will take to hear about a class date.
If anyone out there has any idea it would be very useful info.

I was hired in the first week of March and was told May. I had to request later because I had to finish one more class for my degree so I was given June, so I would expect about two months at most on waiting for a class date.

A friend of mine just started ground on the EMB. He said that the EMB classes are done for a few months due to UAL reducing thier summer flying on the EMB.

Good news is that we are still taking a lot of jets. i.e. (13 in the next 3 months) and they need to be staffed.

VP flt ops told our upgrade/transition/newhire jet class that he expects about 200 more newhires by the end of the year just to fill the jets for this year. Then taking 3-5 jets a month through may of next year.

My guess is that about 100-150 will be newhires to the Jet based in SLC and ORD. Jet classes are running every 3-4 weeks with anywhere from 5-20 newhires per class with the upgrades/transitions. EMB will probably run another class by the end of summer. This is just my SWAG (Scientific Wild A$$ Guess)

Hang in there guys.

My cousins boyfriend who works in FAT talked to a mechanic who knows a sim instructor in LGB that said if the barometric pressure reaches 30.26 in SGU June 23rd, we will bring 12.6 new hires to class 46 days from July 4th. I have heard it all guys - I sat in the pool for 11 plus months and read this **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED**ed board hourly. Don't believe anything you read. Just be patient and it will happen.

Well, the above thoughtful words of wisdom aside, here's the latest I heard while recently in SLC:

Classes in June and July were going to be put off, now they're still on schedule but decreased in size to 10 newhires per month.

I spoke with the woman in charge of all-things-newhire directly and she said classes will be ongoing, but they will vary in size so they can attempt to break the feast-or-famine cycle of newhire F.O. staffing.

Just wondering...is there some sort of unwritten minimums to be placed in the Jet? I've heard mumblings about such, around 2000 TT...

Also...I see the online application is still not available. Are they accepting General Resumes or are interviews awarded by internal rec only?

Thanks for the info!

Anybody get called lately?

I am thinking of planning a vacation or two this summer, what is the latest? .... I can't wait to start but a little time off is quite nice as well!

The unofficial mins are +2000TT (this number came from SGU) with a portion of that multi and of course if some of that is turbine so much the better. If you have a family member is St. George I'm sure those numbers can come down significantly. Also, I think only internal recs are boing looked at...but you don't have to be a 15 year RJ Captain to recommend someone. In fact, I've heard even a 1st year F.O. can get a buddy in if you ask nicely. Good luck kids!

I have a friend that was just called for an interview in late June and he was told he had two days to pick from because those would be the last interviews for a while...

Hate to say this guys but we're most likely looking at August for the next class date. Obviously June is cancelled because it would have started Monday and from what I've heard July is cancelled as well. When that class comes, I beleive its only going to be about 10-15 people.
