SkyWest Airlines Continues Coast to Coast Expansion
Airline Offers Career Options across the Nation and Opportunities to See the World
For Immediate Release

St. George, UT, December 27, 2006 – SkyWest Airlines, a subsidiary of SkyWest Inc. (NASDAQ: SKYW), and the nation’s largest independently owned regional carrier, announced that the airline will host recruiting sessions throughout the country to aid in its coast-to-coast expansion for 2007. The announcement comes at a pivotal time in SkyWest’s history. The airline will celebrate its 35th Anniversary in June 2007, and last week announced an additional code share with Milwaukee-based Midwest Airlines to begin service in April of 2007.

Currently, the airline operates more than 1,600 daily flights across the country as a Delta Connection carrier from SkyWest’s largest hub in Salt Lake City, and as United Express along the West Coast and from its Denver and Chicago O’Hare hubs.

“With our new Midwest partnership, there will be obvious recruitment needs in Milwaukee and Kansas City,” Necia Clark-Mantle, SkyWest Airlines vice president – people explained, “although our operation is growing throughout the country. We’ve seen unique growth and are looking to hire in our ski and winter destinations including Aspen, Denver and Salt Lake.”

The company hired a record 4,000 employees in 2006. “We know that companies across the country are looking for quality team members,” Clark-Mantle continued, “and so we have to be competitive with our pay packages, health benefits, stock purchase and 401(k) plans. One thing that sets SkyWest apart is our ‘Performance Rewards’ incentive program, which is tied to our operational goals. We’re unique because we share those financial rewards with our employees. But I think it’s the travel privileges that really get people excited about their work.”

SkyWest Airlines employees have access to Delta Air Lines and United Airlines’ route structures, as well as a myriad of hotel, cruise lines, rental car agencies and resort discounts. “We have employees who fly to Santa Barbara for lunch, New York for the day, or London for the weekend,” Clark-Mantle continued. “We’re in a distinctive position. Many companies say they’d like to give employees the world, but on some level, we can. In essence, we’ll take you there! Not only to travel destinations, but also with career opportunities.”

SkyWest Airlines holds open house and recruiting sessions throughout the country for flight attendants, pilots, customer service agents and mechanics. For a complete schedule of events and to apply online, visit www.skywest.com/careers/.

SkyWest Airlines was named the Number One On-Time Mainland Airline in the United States by the Department of Transportation for 2005, 2004 and 2003, years in which they carried more than 40 million passengers. System-wide, SkyWest has more than 10,000 employees and serves a total of 133 cities in 38 states and five Canadian provinces with more than 1,600 daily departures.

The memo:

I just wanted to take a moment and thank all of you that have taken the time to send in your pilot recommendations for pilot recruitment. It has really made a difference. My team and I feel like we have 2500+ pilot recruiters out there! As you all know, 2007 is going to be just as challenging. Please continue your efforts in helping us hire the best possible pilots for SkyWest Airlines, and just as important, to NOT hire those who we shouldn't. I really appreciate those of you that are willing to come forward with that kind of information as well.

As you may or may not know, there is a $50 payback on those applicants that are hired as a result of your recommendations and their successful completion of a year of employment.

If you have time, please visit www.skywest.com and take a look at our recruitment events that we have scheduled. We would love to see big numbers at those events.

Again, thank you for all that you have done and continue to do in our hiring efforts.

Have a great 2007!

Camielle

I can't wait until regionals start bidding on good pilots, like headhunters do for stock brokers and CEOs.

I'd gladly go to Skywest right now if I didn't have to deal with first year pay again.
