Schauffhausen Switzerland

Has anyone been there recently? I thought about flying over to ZRH on Swissair or something, taking a train up there, and checking out where they make all those watches. Maybe, my cheap a$$ might even come back with a new shiny breitling. Any feedback would be great.

If you really want to check out watch country i would suggest flying into Geneva and then going to the town of La Chaux-de-Fonds, home of Rolex, Patek Phillipe etc....

Yeah, I goofed on that. I was getting towns confused. I guess they make Breitling in Grenchen, wherever that is. Anyways, thanks for the help !

Just as mentioned above, most watches are made in the French part of Switzerland, which is basically all of the SW.

Thanks MJ. I looked all over for a site like that. From what I hear, you really get no type of discount for buying them in Switzerland. I'm still gonna go though. Thanks again for the help.

I have never visited such factory, but might be very interesting to get a tour.

Who knows, maybe they have display models on sale, or last year selection.

OR you get the models of he newest ones.

I bought a Swatch watch (swiss made also, just less expensive) here in Malaysia. Paid just slightly higher than Swiss advertised prices.

But I saw the same watch at Bangkok airport where it was slighly cheaper, and I could have gotten 20 percent off with my airline batch.

Just a thought ... have a look at the Zurich or Geneva Airport and ask them for any airline discount. Not sure how they work there.
