I am going to renew my CFI this week at the FSDO (June) at the FSDO, but the last renewal was done in August. Will this renewal be good until 2 years from August, or will it be good for 2 years from June?

Also, do CFI's also get the English proficient endorsement on them now or is it still okay to teach using my Southern English?

Thanks.

If you renew within 90 days prior to expiration date, you will retain original expiration date + 2 years.

As for the English Proficient endorsement and yore suthern akcent, ...wa'ell, tha'ut dee'penze on thu fisdo you gonna go to. If'n it's in thu Suthern Rejun, den you ok.

I be livin up here norf of tha' Mason Dixon, uh hu. Gonna go see me the big city of Cincinatti's FSDO. I ain't never been to tha' sity befor. Momma said tha' city be scaarree.

The english proficient thing is only put on the pilot certificate. They probably can put it on there while you are getting the cfi renewed and then you get to carry 2 temps... just ask them.

If you renew in the month that you expire or in the three months before the month you expire, you retain your expiration date. If you renew sooner than that, your expiration date resets.

And the FSDOs don't do the english proficient endorsement, that comes strictly out of OKC. If you get a new pilot cert or a new type rating, you get the english endorsement automatically.

I'm wondering how Way2 will be able to handle the ambrosial gut bomb that is Cincy-style chili.

I already got the English Proficient endorsement on my ATP when I received my DA-20 type . I was wondering if they are putting it on the CFI too, and apparently the answer is yes. Thanks. I still think the entire English Proficient endorsement is a huge waste of FAA resources. But I'm not paid to have a opinion.

Aw, Skyline Chilly. It's not me I'm worried about. It's the poor S.O.B. that is going to be sitting beside me on the Jumpseat back to DTW Thursday afternoon that I am worried about. Crews working CVG to DTW Thursday, you have been warned.

Most of the FAA would agree with you on that one....
