We all know that there is a good chance this will all go to a group of 3 arbitrators, which have to have it done by Nov 20th of this year. Pay parity doesn't come into play until the DCC, which probably will occur after Nov 20th. So, my question is will the arbitrators see the current pay differences in CURRENT pay scales and will that help determine the SLI? We will all eventually get pay parity, but that will happen AFTER the SLI is complete, right? The DC9 guys are paid the poorest, so will that affect where they are placed on the list? No flame here.

From the merger website,

SLI NO Prejudice document

This will confirm our agreement regarding the use of certain discussions, proposals and/or agreements occurring during negotiations for a joint collective bargaining agreement between Delta Air Lines and ALPA covering the combined Delta and Northwest pilot groups and preparation for such negotiations.
The Delta and Northwest MECs and their respective representatives agree that any discussions, written or oral proposals or agreements, or other communications of any kind (including any documents, exhibits and data) between or among Delta, ALPA, the Delta MEC and the NWA MEC and their representatives, employees or counsel regarding pay rates on any aircraft type shall not be used nor in any way referred to either directly or indirectly in any seniority list integration negotiation, mediation or arbitration proceeding between the pilot groups for the purpose of attempting to demonstrate that one or more aircraft type(s) should be considered or not considered the substantial equivalent of any other aircraft type(s).

Part of the reason for the JPWA and some MOA(memorandums of understanding) are to set out guidelines for the SLI. One such stipulation is that pay and discussions or agreements as such will not be used as a baseline for SLI. IE pay will not be used. There are many reasons for this, but it is one more way to get away from the USA deal. It is outlined in the TFA, and that memo.
Basically the two MEC's have engineered a very fair fight for this SLI.

Looks like it will boil down to ratio, slotted, and dynamic. Basically the list of usual suspects.

I think people are finally finding them. For some reason there was no direction or reference to them.

I think once everyone sits down and reads the wealth of information from the union they will see that both MECs did a good job of putting this together.

GL have you seen all the documents?

It took me awhile but now I am finding them. On the ALPA home page, under MERGERS. Yeah, I am still reading it, lots of stuff.....

NEWS FLASH! NWA/DAL reach pre-arbitration S.L.I. agreement at Starbucks in Duluth. It will be D.O.B. with fences. Captains get stone/iron fences on their homes and F/O's get wood with a $25 gift card to Lowes. All non-FMS aircraft aircrews (Pilots) as of July 4, 2008 will get a bump of +500 numbers. All FMS aircraft aircrews who have used vertical speed in the last 12 months (bad managers) get a slider of -757 in numbers. The top 2000 after the blending of numbers get a $10,000 gift card good only for double-cheeseburgers. And all 747 Captains given a turbo-charged 2009 Harley Davidson Softail Custom. That should take care of any inequities in short order. OH MY! And this just in. We already have L.O.A. 2008.11 Anyone still feeling bad can call and claim an award at 10th and M Seafood in ANC and receive a 50 pound shipment of King Crab Legs. Hurry, offer only good for the first 11,500 callers.
