I've flown in and out of Punta Cana several times, but sadly I can't say I've ever been there for a vacation-type stay. All I've ever done is hang out at the airport for about an hour until it's time to blast off with a load of vacationers going home. But from the air and from what I hear about the place, it's not all that expensive of a destination and it looks like a nice place to play in the sand.

Hmm, I wonder if Elvis and Jesus are still working the tower there?

Been there twice, just last April as a matter of fact.

It's definately an affordable all-inclusive resort place.

Several years ago, I stayed at the Iberostar Bavaro, this last trip at the Sol Melia on Bavaro beach.

Golf was included (cart fee though) and just across the street.

The beach is great, facilities are great, food is ok (I'm not picky about food), service was great.

The only downside was that it's a timeshare place, so the salepeople are a little agressive. Most of them took a polite "no-thanks", but one guy I had to be downright rude to.

I liked the Iberostar better for that reason, but the Sol Melia for the golf.

Google "debbie's dominican republic" for better information. Her site is probably the best one I've found.

Congratulations btw.
