Hi All,

Just thought the PSA folks would like to know that the J4J calls have reached the bottom of the list and they are calling in reverse order now for the Captain spots. I just got the call going back up the list, I am in the bottom 300 on the list so everybody has already turned it down once, In my case twice.

Flight ops said they did not have many takers at all, most cited the low pay and not being able to afford the pay cut from their current job (airline, corporate or whatever.)

Sad when the pay has gotten so bad they can't give away RJ Captain spots.

Let me understand this.

USAirways furloughees are being called and offered PSA CRJ Captain positions and turning them down? Is that the case? Are we talking Captain or FO positions in this case? What is the difference in pay between the PSA CRJ Captain position and the MDA E-170 Captain position?

Approximately how many USAirways furloughees have taken jobs with PSA? Are all on the CRJ or are some on the Dornier? Are any USAirways guys flying the CR-7?

Answers:

Question #1 Yes, Furloughees are turning the positions down.

#2 The current calls are for Captain positions

#3 E-170 Captain positions pay about the same so I doubt there will be many takers for those slots either.

#4 I do not hve the exact number who have taken the job, I would say under 80 total for CO and FO but a PSA guy would be able to answer this one better.

#5 No Furloughees on the 328 all go to the jets.

#6 Yes U guys are flying the CR-7

They went through the entire 1800 + furloughees and so far do not have enough takers for the 18 Captain slots that are open in June. (Two classes of 9 each, the 7th and 14th if memory serves)

Do you have any details on the training process? How can one make sure his successful and prepare for class.
Is it hard to get Philly as a base. Would they put PSA first officers in those upgrade classes if unable to get the j4j pilots in.

Mesa is beginnng a CRJ base pull down as they transfer those planes to CLT. I would guess that PSA will grow in PHL to replace them.

I thought I read that there were some USAirways furloughees who accepted CRJ FO positions with PSA. So, would these guys be given the option to upgrade to Captain immediately if Captain slots were available in June?

yes, the fact that they're going back up the list means every j4j fo there has been awarded a captain position, though they may be held for a couple of months as fo's until they would've otherwise finished training as a captain (they're all typed already I believe).

Dont know about PSA but I've been told that there is a MDA class that starts next Mon that has no FO positions filled, thus meaning that call to the WO should be comming. However I also hear that in a closed door meeting with Hauk (alg pres) and Ashby (head of all U express) that they want us to put off flow to MDA rights because we are so short staffed here at ALG and PDT. I geuss liquidation threats were tossed around again if we don't play nice.

All I can say is that the MDA thing is the final straw for most if not all of us, if we arent allowed to flow or at least given the chance with a decision (meaning the "pref sheet" thats comming out) then let this place (alg&pdt) burn. Nobody will care anymore, not that many do now. Everybody in the U system has gotten thiers, PSA: double fleet size w/ CRJ's, Mainline guys get J4J and MDA, contract carriers get more aircraft, but what did we get, A BIG FAT NOTHING.

We'll boyz, its our time now, no more crapola, no more tricks, no more nothing, we had better get a crack at thoes positions and at MORE THAN 4 PER MONTH (thats another bone to pick). Like I said its the final straw, if they think attrition is bad now........

To even entertain a modification of the MDA flow for the PDT/ALG pilots by respective ALPA representation without member notification borders upon ineptitude or worse corruption. Why would either pilot group allow ANY modification to the one agreement in the past 20 years which is beneficial? The writing is on the wall with U pilots/U managment and Alpa Nationals actions concerning the W/O's at PDT/ALG. To prepose a "modification" isn't the straw to break the camels back. It is the 12 gauge shotgun to the forehead and stateing you pull the trigger for the good of Ugroup and the fraternal brothers at U. For either PDT/ALG MEC to consider this in "closed discussion" without ANY statement from respective MECC's or MEC's is questionable at best. Maybe Mr Ford from the RJ Defense legal team should collect these informative papers of discussion from ALPA National and the upstanding group at U MEC, and the respective W/O's MEC's?

Give it 6 more months. You may change you mind, MDA: Remove the D and insert ES

"Give it 6 more months. You may change you mind, MDA: Remove the D and insert ES".

Hope your right with the 6 months, in that amount of time a large group of pilots could flow. Not palatable to ALPA National and the U MEC. W/O's better hold the line for themselves or there will be nothing. No market for the W/O's anyway.Let U file BK, the court case with the W/O's last agreement is being heard in a Civil representation lawsuit against ALpa, and a interesting arbitration with Ugroup and the W/O's agreement with prepackaged Chapter 11. Sometimes when the lies catch up there is no where to turn. Just look at Johnny O's history with the SEC's investigation and enforcement concerning his fraudulent actions as a securities trader. Too bad they didn't charge him with a felony and prosecute.
