I agree with Speedtape. Why would Pinnacle cut off it's own head, afterall, they are the one's buying back the shares, all to have their future put in doubt?

I think this is a ploy to hide cash that Pinnacle has (by giving it NWA) to make their case against a better pilot contract.

Fight the good fight 9ers!!

Relax. None of this is a big surprise.

In 2003, NWA spun off Pinnacle, and now they are unloading the remainder of their shares. Pinnacle could have sold the shares on the open market or to another investor. The fact that Pinnacle bought the shares can actually be taken as a positive sign that Pinnacle management believes the shares are a good investment and they anticipate further growth.

The 10-year service agreement with NWA locks in the remaining CRJs after the 15 transfer to Mesaba.

Speaking of, NWA acquires Mesaba in bankruptcy, and will probably spin them off as well in a few years, just like XJet and Eagle.

No surprises here.

With Pinnacle flying for Delta and US Airways, it only makes sense for NW to unload this stock.

Pinnacle really needs to bite the bullet and get a contract so they can get staffing levels up and start thinking about fleet renewal.

I knew they were doing DCI flying, but when did they sign a deal with US Airways? Or are you reffering to Colgan (yes i know they bought colgan)?

I guess that since you obviously work for AMR in some form or another, you are used to "biting the bullet" to get things moving.
