I will be having a flight in the near future returning to New Jersey on a Sunday afternoon (probably between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.). Do any of you have experience clearing U.S. customs at TEB, EWR or MMU? At EWR do you go back to the main customs terminal? EWR or MMU are preferred for us. Any comments are appreciated.

Thank you.

Why don't you ask this on the fractional board since we do this on a regular basis.

To answer your question. I would avoid MMU i've had better luck at EWR. EWR they come to you at signature. At MMU you have to park over at customs clear and then come back over to signature to offload. It can be a pain.

Only one time did i get the full breakdown probe at EWR. The guy were nice but just doing their job.

Make sure all your Passport#/DOBs/etc get to which ever port of entry well prior to your arrival. Make sure you keep the ICE folks up to date on any changes of schedule. Id recommend TEB at the Jet avaiation Customs facility.

TEB is probably easiest. Not too many problems (just make sure you have ALL of your paperwork ready). MMU is a User Fee airport and will cost you somewhere around $300-500. EWR is available 24/7 and should be available at Signature.
