Cool. I like Marathon. I visited right after Wilma. I didn't realize the storm surge damage they got, and flew in with a few friends. They took good care of us at the FBO, even with all their troubles (water damage, intermittent power and phone, etc)...

What really sucks is that Marathon used to be the best of the keys because it wasn't touristy. People only passed through going to Key West. Now it's going to be a tourist trap just like Largo and Key West. So much for the quiet Keys lifestyle... you just can't get away from the world any more.

Not true at all. Largo may as well be a suburb of MIA now, Key West is a tousrist town, but there's still plenty of the real keys left in the middle keys. I'm just not at liberty to share where, for obvious reasons....
