What I can't find a link for are the articles describing Airbus' preparations to hang GTF's on the wings of A340's for flight testing.

Superpilot:

I have high hopes that if the GTF turns out to be the engine it is supposed to be (planetary gearboxes are difficult things to make work on the wing) then the 100 to 150 seat market will give you an excellent shot at getting your fourth gold stripe at a very young age.

One can hope

Of course it isn't a phantom.

Wish that Boeing would build a plastic 90 to 150 seater with GTF's before the 737 market gets taken over by engineers who listen to Celine Dion.

Seattle engineers are one airplane ahead of Toulouse, hopefully Boeing realizes that and keeps the pace up. The Baby Bus is a nice bird, but a clean sheet design could kick it's ass with authority.

Unfornately it sounds like Boeing is going to skip the 90-150 seat market, a replacement 777 is supposed too be next. Boeing believes that is where the money is.

Rumors are the Baby Bus may sprout a couple of the new Pratt GTF engines. Flight testing to begin with an A340 this summer.

Good info. The Dreamliner will look nice in Delta colors.

it'll look nice in everyone's colors... but just make sure we get paid appropriately for it ok=-- getting enamored w/ airplanes always makes me nervous- especially since there are so many pilots who do this job for 'fun' instead of as a necessary way to make $$.

Delta colors and NW pilots.

Why do they call you the "Cobra Airline"? Is it because you strike at anything? I just wish you would all get along and just enjoy fun layovers together, like SFO. I was there last night, and it was a blast. PM me if you want to know any specific clubs.
