Any prior military pilots who would be interested in flying for the Navy reserves in San Diego, contact VR-57 as they will be holding a pilot hiring board in August to hire approx 4 people to fly the DC9 for a year and then transition to the 737 starting next year. Usual commitment involves 8 days a month including drill weekend and a two week detachment to either Italy or Japan annually. Call 619-545-6921 for more info. PM if you have any specific questions.

Yes and Yes

Yes you have to be a prior flying officer in one of the 4 DOD fighting services, or from the Coast guard (formerly of the department of transportation).

Yes always in San Diego unless of course BRAC 2005 decides to close down North Island. (unlikely)

Hmm, San Diego......hmm, I've done some JAATT's there......what a great time.........I thought the Navy doesn't like anyone in any other service........

Navy 737s

I'll bet its a real pig to get aboard the bo-at!
Sounds dangerous, count me in.
