Coming up on 1000tt (about 170 multi). I would like to stay in, or be able to work my way back to the MSP area. Is Mesaba still hiring? I heard that they were backed up on the Avro sim. Would either Mesaba or Pinnacle look at me with those numbers?

Pinnacle wants 1500/300.. Have they gone below those numbers? To my knowledge not too often. Those they did were usually interns of some fashion.

Regardless, it does not hurt to send a resume in, or if you have the opportunity go to one of the job fair's.

I will add though.. a rumor (remember it is a rumor) is that we are currently having challenges finding people to interview. Something like 10 offers to interview and only 2-3 show up... Still hiring for now, but I doubt it will be going on much past the end of the year.

From what I understand XJ will be hiring for the rest of the year for small classes. This is basically to staff for folks leaving, because we're certainly not growing. Haven't heard about the avro sim being backed up, but since the next closest one is in Berlin, Germany it's pretty busy these days with new hires and PCs. Newhires have actually been getting MSP Avro FO lately... which has been impossible to get up until the last few months. Our mins are still 1000/100, but I'm not sure if that's competitive anymore. They've got thousands of apps...

FO

From what I've heard (Did the interview today) 9E is planning on somewhere around 200-300 for the rest of the year.

I don't exactly know what the minimums where, it seemed that maybe only 1 of the group of 13 was an instructor at the time, but I'm not for sure. It never hurts to send your stuff in.

Keeping an open ear....

Heard Mesaba slowed down on hiring, to atrition rate 0-4, as needed. They let go of some instructors even. There hiring boom was to fill the new contract. They were hiring guys around 1200tt and 200multi. I think once the NWA pilots contract is done there will be a bit of change until then I think it is going to stay the same. Never hurts to send your stuff. I sent mine in summer of '03 got called 6 monts later. The res i sent had 1100tt and 170multi. When i had the interview i had 1200/200. Don't know if that made a difference or not?

Mesaba

A friend of mine got hired into the Saab about 4 months ago with 1300 TT / 200 Multi. You might stand a shot. He got based in Memphis as did someone else I know that went there... both were in the Saab though... AVRO looks good. Is Mesaba EVER going to get new planes?

Growth, 4 new-hires at a time

What are you talking about? We got brand new planes from 96 to 99...what's that you say? It's 2004? Darn.

But seriously we signed a "growth" contract in January which was followed shortly by an annoucement from our CEO saying we should expect no growth in the near future.

Glad I voted no.

Props aren't just for boats...they're for Mesaba too!

Yep... right about the time Pinnacle management realizes the Pinnacle pilots aren't going to roll over with a crappy contract (about a year). NW Mainline mgmt will probably start giving CRJ's to Mesaba as a "see what happens when you don't play ball?" ploy, then threaten to take some of the ones already on property and give them to Mesaba if we don't immediately give in to their demands.

Let the whipsaw begin!

NWA has already announced that it is awarding itself new 70 seaters. Why would they wory about what Pinnacle pilots or Mesaba pilots think. I'd be more worried NWA will toss the lease on the RJ-85's, than I would be fantasizing about NWA playing shell games with CRJ's.
