United Airlines United flight 7258 from Chicago touched down at 11:15 a.m., but the plane slid off the end of a runway at the Dane County Regional Airport.

Airport operations brought a bus out to transport the 25 passengers to the terminal...no one was injured.

As of 12:30 Saturday afternoon, the airport was still open but virtually all flights in and out of the airport were canceled due to weather at other airports.

It's probably the CA's first time driving anything on the snow.

Gotta love learning how to fly in Farmington and Phoenix...

I give them a 1/2 point for even hitting within the airport boundary.

A little more cash out of J.O's pocket is always a good thing.

Thanks.

They are only paid for a specific block time for a flight. So if the flight from ORD to Madison was averaged at 1.0 hrs then thats what they get.

So basically when your working the hardest (Dealing with weather, Holding, Deicing, Ground Stops etc) you are working for free.

I worked for a Block only airline before, believe me it sucks. People tend to push the limits when they are only getting paid a certain amount of time for a flight.

Unfortunately he isn't kidding. They wouldn't have been paid for the flight back to ORD.

Would you please stop making stuff up about Mesa? If you've going to talk about their contract, read it. Don't assume your old contract is the same as ours.

Here's what would have happened if they had turned around... a flight leaves an ORD gate, sits an hour for deice/departure delays, takes off, holds waiting for destination weather to improve, eventually turns around and comes back to ORD. Total time, 3 hours. Total pay, 3 hours. If we end up anywhere other than our planned destination we get paid block time. Includes return to gates.

It hasn't been said yet in this thread, MESA sukks!
Oh yeah, SKYW has eliminated all requirements for upgrade since deciding to transfer all CRJs to SKYW airlines and replace all ASAs A/C with Metros! Did I forget any hijack flame?
