Hey everyone.

I wanted to pick your brain for some useful and nice to know tips on the Lear 60.
I have been flying the LR 55 for about a year and recently upgraded to the LR 60.
I know what Bombardier taught me about the plane but I was wondering if any of you had some more tips. Anything that you can pass on would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

If you have an APU, use it after every cold-soak flight. It's does not like to be cold soaked and never used.

Use of full reverse will increase your brake life. Unless you're using 5000' foot runways, breaking is really not needed until less than 60 kts or so. I'm at 220 landings on our first set of brakes, and last break-wear check indicated we're only down 10% of wear. TR's are very effective.

My hats off to you sir! I go thru pads around here like Styrofoam coffee cups. Got so bad recently our DO had Bombardier put’em in the vending machines next to the planning room for easy access.

:D

That's 'cause you're guys are getting on the brakes as soon as they touch down. Can't do that in the big Lear's. Touchdown speeds are too high and Lear 55/60 brakes are too inadequate.

I just stay off of them unless needed. Simple as that.

Lets see..what else....

Keep the EFIS rheostats to full dim when sitting on the ramp and after clearing runway. Also when sitting w/ APU running. You'll get longer life out of the CRT's.
