Does anyone have any recent info on Colgan Air in terms of jumpseat priveleges with other 121's, working and scheduling conditions, and maintenence issues? Thanks for your input.

Recent info doesn't really matter. Colgan does not change. Do a search on Colgan and you'll find reading material to last you the weekend.

if the plane has usairways colors on it you can ride in the jumpseat, just about every other carrier out there you can jumpseat on too....but their must be an open seat in the back of the plane for you to sit in. No riding in the cockpit on other carriers. Maintance..the planes seem to be flying with less MELs (broken things) then they were a year ago. At least i think so. They also seem to be more on top of the planes with broken air conditioning as well. I think the saab gets the priority when both a beech and a saab are broken do to the fact that the saab makes more money. My opinion only. If you get hired...pray you get the saab. It's all pretty much better over there...better bases, pay, airplane, better for the resume, and more. The beech sucks and so do its bases and routes. Just my opinion though. We have people quiting basically weekly....most are FOs on the beech. So i bet most other people agree with me. And we got some cowboys over here. The saab Fo's seem to hang on a lot longer. Warning....they are hiring for the beech and saab right now....due to all the openings on the beech. People hired on the beech just a few months ago are already getting out of here. Since the average FO uses this place as a fancy part 121 Airnet...i think piedmont would be the better place to pad your resume for a regional airline job flying jet equipment. Scheduling...12-13 days of a month i guess on average...and they try to put them in a row of 3 at a time. We may have openings for cowboys, but i am not sure.

And we got some cowboys over here
OK Colgan boys and girls...Let's play NAME THAT QUOTE!!!!

"You wouldn't be one of them.... Augusta Cowboys.... Would you????"

Who said it?????

And the BONUS Question.....

Who was he talking about??????

:D

TIMMAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't think you would pull that quote...i figured you would pull the "fancy part 121 airnet" quote. It was more creative. Anywho, no base is complete without a .....cowboy.Cowboy #1 is no longer employed here...i know that much.

Well, the real Cowboy #1 is still there.... I think you call him the Director of Training!

The person who said that quote.... Cowboy #1 himself, said that to someone who is still, very much, a Colganite.

I should say that being a Cowboy, or even the #1 Cowboy, is not necessarily a bad thing in the environment you fly in.

Well on occasion we do have openings for cowboys, and sometimes all the slots are full. You have cowboys of the north, and cowboys of the south. Everyone has some cowboy in them. Oh well, i guess it's quote time.

"they got some real cowboys where i'm based....hello??? checklist anytime?"
"he got on with air whisky"
"they offered him an early class and then that was the end of his 2 week notice"
"he was only hired here like 3 months ago and he has already interviewed and been hired at air whisky"
"he said we don't have the money to be doing go arounds"
"evidently he saw his sick time as the green light to blow off the last 2 5am shows of his two weeks notice."
"who's that joker that posts the quotes on the internet?"

Info. on Colgan Maint.

Now I hope I get this saying correct and if not feel free to correct me. "Pictures say a thousand words!!"

Do a search on Colgan most of what you read is true. Some of us take it better than others.
