I'm one of those going-nowhere-fast regional airline pilots who is looking for a change of venue, but doesn't know the first thing about the corporate job market. I don't even know how marketable I would be at 5000+ TT and less than 1000 turbine PIC. I'm only typed in T-category airplanes, with no business jet experience. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks. Maybe I can recoup some of the money I've given them for DSL and cell phones.

If you don't know the first thing about the corporate job then why are you looking for one? I would think in your situation, at AE I assume, I would go for Flight Options or Flexjet.

It upsets me that all the regional guys are now flooding the Corporate market because they "don't like it" in the airlines. All these 1000 hour pilots wanted was to get into an "RJ". Now they realize that the coolness of an RJ only goes so far. I just hope that all these guys don't make the payscales in the Corporate world go down like they did at the regionals. Loaf, with 5000TT I'm sure you're smarter than that!! Don't accept anything other than NBAA standard!

Loafman, this isn't a personal attack, I'm just afraid of what this might do to our market in the future. I just see a lot of guys such as yourself bailing from the regionals into our world and, they don't seem to like it here either. Get ready to do ALOT more work at fractionals or Corporate such as, cleaning the interior, toilet, sucking up to the rich folk, sitting in FBO's for hours, etc...
It might be quite a shock to you. Good luck in your ventures...

The best way to get a corporate job is to get out and pound the pavement. I have never heard of anyone getting a corp job by going out and talking to the HR department at a corporation and filling out an application. You have to get out there and talk to people.

Spend an entire week going to all the D/FW airports and just talk to people. TKI, DAL, ADS, FTW etc. You want locations of all the FBO's...go to www.fltplan.com. Another option is to go out to Simuflite over by DFW and try to get in on their right seat program. You get a little training and some corporate jet experience and most importantly, you will get the opportunity to make a name for yourself with some potential contacts. PM me if you want a contact name over at Simuflite.

Now, like the other guy said. This is the corporate world, not the regionals. We (well most of us) don't whore ourselves out to fly big sexy jets, we would appreciate it if you would doing the same when considering a career path change.

FYI, I didn't whore myself out just to fly an RJ. I was a check airman in the training department and displaced to the RJ. I have a few buddies at fractionals and don't think thats any better than what I'm doing now. Conversely, I have a buddy flying a Global Express for a fortune 500 company, and he loves it. I know that's not where the entry level jobs are, but I'd like to at least pursue some options. At 37, I'm not going to let grass grow under my feet too long. I have too much time invested here to quit for a fractional job, and I'm pretty good at selling myself. Like I said, I don't know the first thing about it, and that's why I was asking. I'm certain any outfit out there would be pleased to have me as an employee. The director of training has been trying to get me back for years, but his hands are tied. AMR is just a crappy place to be right now, with no end in sight.
