Just wondered if anyone had any experience with Kanton Island (PCIS) in Kiribati? I understand it is a remote island with no services and an old military airstrip but I have a hard time finding out if the strip is usable. I was able to get a photo of the pavement from a boat crew but that is about it.

Any help would be appreciated... thx

Contact the US Coast Guard in Honolulu, HI. With the exception of the military, they would be the only one that I can think of that might have some information. Would be interested in knowing what you find out, why you want to know and how it was if you go. Good luck.

Looks usable to me. This image allegedly taken in 2011. No idea how long it is, but I can tell you from the photo, that you won't have to worry about getting ramp checked :D Make sure you carry enough fuel to get somewhere else that has fuel.

You could probably call someone at NSTU (Pago Pago) and find out if it is usable.

Looks like some wicked awesome surfing on the north shore.

If you are going there for a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Shoot, I might be available for contract work ;)
