Could someone at JB give a poolie some insight on what aircraft choice would be best to get off reserve quickest if based in BOS, based on any known future aircraft mix there?

FWIW:

15000+ TT
10000+ Jet PIC
17 yr at regionals

Good luck to all waiting for a class date or on Phase 2.

Best bet to hold a line will probably be the E190. Lots of people move off the plane after their initial 2 year seat lock so they can be based in other areas that dont have an E190 base like FLL, LGB. Right now the E190 and A320 have roughly the same number of crews in BOS, but a lot less movement on the Bus side of things. Good luck getting into class ASAP.

Ex-Eagle?

It was the 190. Not so sure that is going to be the case for long though. We are taking 11 new a/c in 2012 7 320's and 4 190's. 2 of those 190's are coming in the first two months and are already staffed for. So net gain of new pilots for a/c growth points towards mostly 320 for the rest of the year.

Not to mention that the BOS E190 base grew from about 80 crews in June 2011 to 160 in March 2012. Most of those being new hires with a 2 year seat locks.

The BOS base is the largest 190 base in the system and the 190 dominates the BOS base by departures. Although the 320 and 190 are almost exactly the same size by pilots.

*RUMOR*
As the 190 routes from bos continue to develop, and demand rises, the new 320's will shift up there and the 190's will shift south to MCO and the Islands.(2013)

Have you run into many BOS 190 FOs that plan on bidding the 320 when the seatlock expires? I know a handful that are close to the 2yr mark and plan on making the jump. I was thinking that could continue the movement on the 190 even without any new a/c, but I dont know the longer term plans for the A320 base in BOS and how much it plans on growing. If your rumors proves true then it could be a big bump to A320 growth in BOS.

Looking forward to ending the commute and being part of a profitable, forward thinking company.

Oh no, here is where the two disgruntled jetblue guys jump all over you and ruin your thread with talk about how terrible the company is.....

Wait for it.....wait for it....

The only fly in the ointment is their non-Union status. You will be at the whim of management for everything from wages to scheduling to benefits. Too bad the ALPA haters keep voting down the Union organizing efforts.

No your right. I think when the time comes the E190 guys will jump ship. Its always nice to be the big fish in the small pond too.

How much were we hiring 2 years ago? How many are coming up on the 2 year mark? Honest question im really not sure?

I do know that about 80 new hires have gone to the 190 in BOS over the past 8 months or so.

August of 2010 started this latest hiring spree of 250-300/year, so 8/12 they should be starting to jump ship

Which means the movement might start on the march system bid. That one should be effective September. Those august 2010 guys can swap then I believe.

That probably changes things a bit then.
