I was wondering if any of you know what Eagle looks for qualification-wise. I filled out an app using the airline apps. linked to AE's webpage and was e-mailed a rejection letter 6 hours later. My qualifications listed on my app were as follows:

2000 TT
600 ME
1600 as Flight Instructor
800 hours flown last 12 months
35 hours of actual IFR/ 70 simulated (instrument current)
0 Turbine
ATP
College Graduate (4 year)

I did have a couple of red light violations a couple years back which I listed on my app.

I was an avionics tech for America West a few years back and failed the probation period for tardiness ( I was working 2 jobs at the time...really tight schedule). I also admitted this on my app.

I've checked and double and triple checked my app. and found no errors......so what gives? Thanks in advance.

If I was a betting man I'd put my money on the being let go for tardiness as the reason you were deep sixed with Eagle.

I only worked for AWA for a month and a half. This was 4 years ago. I was working for Honeywell at the time and deciding which job I liked better. AWA made the decision for me. Maybe I should not of even admitted it on my app.

Honestly is the best policy. It shows character and a sense of dignity. Just admit your mistake and explain what was learned form your experience and how you would deal with the same problem in the future.

I personally think they did you a favor, there are a lot of regionals hiring right now and eagle doesn’t bring much to the table in the way of pay and benefits. (In less you like being an FO for 8yrs)

Personally I would try Netjets, Citation Shares or somewhere thy don’t try to eat there young.

Perhaps it was the competitive mins that they have listed. It would seem that you are a bit short in couple spots. Do you have any Air Carrier experience?

From the Eagle website.

Thanks for the input. I know there are better opportunities out there. Eagle was a good option for me because of strong family presence in Dallas. No big deal. I do not have any air carrier (121 or 135) time at all. I was just blown away that it took them just 6 hours to shoot me down.

Could it have been, perhaps, a computer-generated knock-out? I didn't look at their mins, but I suspect if you fell short in any of them, it might auto-boot you.

Good luck in whatever you pursue.
