forget it

It's a great airline (I used to work there), but with what, 114 on furlough and a projected loss next year and declining J41 fleet....there will likely be no hiring for a loooong time.
I'm confident they'll make it fine, but it will be a little while before any hiring is done.

Hiring?

Where'd you hear that they are hiring? I don't think they've even called people back yet. Either way, good luck. Please post whatever you hear.

Let us not forget the uncertain/unknown transition of the DoJets from the company....there are many crews associated with that fleet as well....

We wont be hiring any pilots until late 2006 at the earliest, probably will be sometime in 2007. But who really knows? Also we are in a 6 month hiring freeze for FAs as well.

DoJets

Does anyone have any idea as to WHEN Delta is supposed to announce who gets the
DoJets? I would think that it would be some time soon.

Is it true that there may be an issue w/ Skyway getting the DoJets being that
they are owned by Midwest Express Airlines which would violate the DL scope agreement?

I think they have seperate operating certificates....

Thank you
Good grief. Have you no idea what is going on there? Read the boards, they have a lot of good information.

Bye Bye--General Lee

So DALPA doesn't have a problem as long as a carrier puts the "big" airplanes on another certificate when it codeshares with Delta as DCI? Tell me General, what kind of logic is that?

I think many of the 114 guys we have on furlough are ghost names....I'd dare say 35-50% will not be coming back as they have moved on to other (greener?) pastures. Independence will be an interesting gamble, I'm keeping my fingers crossed we can pull it off....I think if its managed properly it has a great upside, and the company is definitely trying to do things right, but this is a vicious industry.....

I know there is a lot bigger problems that Independece Air has to worry about than the pool. But does anyabody knows if the pool still around

Well Hello MR.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so sick and tired of hearing how much better you MAINLINE PIECES of .... ARE. I have worked at two regional companies owned by US Airways and Delta, and we work 15 hour days flying 6 legs a day, and you know what, most of YOU that come here quit within 6 months because you can't handle flying 98 hours and being off 12 days a month. We tried to join your pilot group with you before Sept. 11 and you all laughed at our face. Now you are begging for our FO position. Well just let you know, the people that YOU sent over, don't stay. They can't handle the REAL WORLD were they have to work. So trust me, I would love to have your jobs making $300,000 a year and only working 9 days a month, but it is over. Save your self General Lee.

Wow, someone's angry! I work at ASA and in four years have gone over a 14 hour duty day once because of weather. If you are working 98 hours a month, it's by your choice. All the furloughees that I have flown with are still here (well over a year). Thanks for playing though.

N813CA,

Don't forget to take your meds. If you were a Delta mainline pilot, you would be doing the SAME THING right now - you would be attempting to preserve your position and your livelihood - don't deny that. If Colgan or Mesa was invited to take some of your feed and expand at your expense then I am sure that you wouldn't be happy with it. You wouldn't bend over and just accept it.

Put the bottle down dude......Yours makin' uz luk bad.

N813CA,

The reason you weren't stapled to our list is because your senior guys wanted date of hire---which was stupid. The senior guys at your company ruined it for you. Then you will say that they allowed you to keep your jobs due to 9-11-----well, if you knew 9-11 was going to happen--why didn't you say something?

A lot of the people at Delta that were hired in the last 3 years of hiring were from ASA and Comair---and then Comair wouldn't help them out when everything fell apart after 9-11. That was nice of your company! ASA was gracious enough to help out, and I don't think many of our guys would have gone to Comair and given up their seniority.

And, you do need to get back on that medication. Stay off the roads and jet routes!

Bye Bye--General Lee
