You're a tool. I'm sure SAPA has a lot to do with negotiations on scope waivers at UAL.

Glad you're so thrilled about our profession going into the toliet. But hey at least the company will grow! Management saves.

Wow, for once I actually agree with nimitz on this one... SkyWest, you really sound pretty much clueless. SAPA loosening UALs scope clause? So SAPA has more suck than ALPA at UAL??? Please, spare me.

Also, 'splain to me how the B717 is the answer, cheaper than operating a Guppy. Compared to a 737-500, the airframe size/pax count is roughly the same. Both have high bypass, fuel efficient engines, so you lose that argument compared to the JT-8Ds on an old 737-200... the only way the 717 is gonna be cheaper to operate is on crew costs. So you're proud of the fact that you think y'all can fly a ship comparable to a mainline Guppy for less $$... coming straight out of your wallet with SKWs lower pay scales... amazing. Like nimitz said, you're a tool.

Ya gotta be proactive in this field. sitting around waiting for yer buddies to do the work ain't gonna cut it.

I wanted to get some opinions and suggestions on how to go about this the right way, since every company might have a little different way of accepting resumes and scheduling interviews. I was not sure if calling certain people might put your resume in the round filling can. Other companies that I have been interested I checked out what they like and tried it out, for example I was very interested in Horizon and heard that showing up in person knocking on doors has worked wonders for some, so I did just that, and meet a great contact that sits on the interview board. Since Horizon stopped interviews probably for the year, I now am setting my sights on SkyWest, which looking into it might be the better fit for myself and family anyway.
Thanks for the input

SAPA has more power than you think. Look at all the cool beenies that we have.

You're trying to tell me that the 737-500 is as efficient as the B717?? You must be smoking some wacky tabaccie..

SkyWest is where it's at.

Ohh, now I get it... you're just trolling, looking to stir sh!t up. Moron.

Seriously, compare the 737-500 to the 717. Seat count pretty close to the same. Weights very similar. Engine thrust ratings pretty close, -500 has approx 3,000 lbs more. Specific fuel consumption numbers close to the same; from what I can determine with a few minutes research is that the fuel burn on the 717 might be a few hundred pounds per hour less. Looks to me like the only real cost saving is you willing to fly it for a lot less than mainline UAL.

Tool.

When did SkyWest pilots get to start wearing beenies with the uniform? I must have missed that memo. Now that the uniform hats are optional, if one chooses to wear a hat...a beenie is the way to go. :D

He's definitely trolling...nobody that works at SkyWest actually thinks that SAPA can negotiate with UAL about scope clauses. And the B717 isn't on the way. I certainly don't want to fly them, unless a realistic pay scale is presented. I also don't want to fly them with DAL or UAL paint on them. That's flying that the mainline should be doing. SkyWest is a great company, but I wouldn't say that it's "where it's at"...whatever that means.

I'm pretty sure that SkyWest (the Flightinfo guy) is an embarrassment to all other SkyWest pilots.
