Blisters

Anyone else have problems with blisters wearing the Deer Stags? Right on the heel. They're broken in now, and feel great, but those first few days....ouch.

i musta gotten a bum pair of deer stags. not only did they take at least a week of walking around with blisters on my heel, breaking them in, but they set off the detectors every single time i walked through them. not all at the same airport, either, so it wasn't just super sensitive machines at one spot, or anything like that.
now that they're 3 months old, the cloth inside of the left heel is worn off, and down to pure plastic scraping my heel again, now that the blister is completely healed.

shoes

I found a pair of Kenneth Cole's that don't beep and every pair of KC's I've had have lasted a long time, plus they look pretty good. I don't know if I would allow myself to go into a JCPenny's to see if they had them there but I know they have them at Nordstroms

I wear Skechers. They make a model called Phenomenon. At least I think those are the ones I bought. They are marketed as airport friendly. There is a stamp on the box and a tag on the shoes stating that they are airport friendly. No metal in them, but still have the soft rubber soles.

Just go into a Skecher store and ask for the airport friendly black shoes. I got them at Horton plaza in SAN on an overnight for $50 or so. The girl asked me if I worked at the airport or something, as many pilots and flight attendants have been coming in for them. They come in a lace up model and a slip on one too.
