Just read in the Cincy paper that Comair and ASA will take delivery of 25 more aircraft each for a total of 50 more CRj's starting january 2005. looks like things will pick up at each airline. Finally some good news!!

hmm

The author of the original post (WorldSeries) is a furloughed pilot from another carrier currently working at Comair.

He has contributed to this forum many times before and has never been one to start a flame-war.

Even if he and I have not seen eye-to-eye on certain subject in the past I sincerely doubt he would be posting something like this simply to stir up trouble.

Lets give him the benefit of the doubt and allow him to respond to the thread and post his source and date.

Actually, there are more than two newspapers beyond the Post and the Enquirer in Cincinnati. But, I looked in two more weekly publications having to do with business, and I can find nothing in any paper that supports what this thread claims as to more a/c for Comair in 2005.

there is another post below talking about Comair calling for interviews...perhaps there's a connection............

No, the good news would be DAL buying some 100 seat mainline a/c to put the recalled furloughed pilots into. There are enough of these barbie jets flying around already.

Why do these have to be mutually exclusive? If both happened would that not be good news?

Take it from a guy who has been on both sides of the fence. Don't wish ill upon anyone in this industry. (including those FOs with whom you fly who may, in fact, be in the right seat for 6...7...8+ years)

Our industry is the world's biggest glass house. Stones are dangerous.

Still no link to the reported newspaper article about the 2005 deliveries?? Has ANYONE seen this article, and if so, what paper and on what day?

My point was that if the majors start getting more a/c then eventually they will hire from the regionals and some of us could move on. I would never try to hinder someones career but if the majors could get their act together and be profitable again, everyone would benefit.

Somebody buy this man a beer.

I heard this exact number (Comair 25/ ASA 25) from an F/O last week on a trip. His source for this rumor was a jumpseater who doesn't work for either Co.

I think that WorldSeries may have heard this rumor and decided that "read it in the Cincy paper" lent more credibility than heard it from my cousin's, friend's barber who cuts the hair of some male flight attendant, who use to shack up with the VP of Whatever at Delta.

You guys sound like typical airline employees now....the glass is half empty..........................................................
