I heard that GM is getting rid of their fleet of Citation X's. Does anyone know what they are replacing them with, and why they are getting rid of them?

I don't know what they decided on, but it was between the Falcon 2000EX and G350.

Reliablity was the reason I heard.

I have a friend in a leadership role at the GM flight department and he told me that although they liked the speed, the passengers weren't crazy about the small cabin and the reliability was killing them.

Question GV. Say they bought the G350; what type rating would they need to fly it? Will the GV type, with differences training, qualify, or would they need to get a GIV type? With this EaSY and Planeview cockpits, it's getting confusing.

The G350/G450/GV/G500/G550 are all the same type. The G300/G400/GIV/GIVSP are the same type. So for the guys and gals at GM, differences training, generally in concert with their scheduled recurrent training, is all they'd need. FSI just used the G350 sim for G550 recurrent for one of our crews.

Always a pleasure,

GV

The 350, 450, 500 and 550 share the same type rating.
Since the GV and G550 have the same type rating, a GV rating will apply for the 350 up to 550 types after a 5-day differences course.
For EVS qualification, if sought, 14 hours are necessary.

Edited: GV Flyer was faster...
