I just saw on flight explorer a G-5 coming from Prague going to Beef Island VGB which has a 3500 foot runway. I didn,t think a G-5 could operate out of such a short runway. What is the shortest runway you can use in the G-5/4/3 ?

The G-V is incredible, These are straight out of the book numbers Sea Level @ 5 degrees Celsius, 50K lbs. = 2700' of Runway.

At what weight?

Err, forgive the above stupid question, not seeing the 50K clearly typed above. :)

It's telling me the above message length is too short...this should be long enough now.

I think he's wondering what the BOW is for the GV. I'm guessing around 45,000 lbs.?? 5,000 lbs. of fuel is what......maybe an hour and 45 minutes?

That's pretty dang impressive. Leave Prague in the middle of winter, fly 12 hours and land on a 3600' runway in the Caribbean!

Looks like a job for a Legacy:rolleyes: .

Where is Beef Island located?

There are guys on here with alot more GV knowledge than me, but just for fun:
Assume TEB @ 30C with no wind. a B.O.W. of 45000,4 pax,200 lbs of bags and 5000lbs of fuel it looks like you would need 2757ft using V1 min. It looks like using the long runway (3500) was a smart choice!!(lol) Oh , and the plane (no comment on technique) would need 2206 ft @2500 lbs fuel on landing

And here I was thinking SNA was a little short... TC

Well a Legacy could certainly handle the short runway...
Assuming they use the "broken tail dragging on the ground to reduce ground roll" feature....yes! :D
