HI Guys & Gals,
I'm new to this board so please be patient with me. I was furloughed from a major about 6mo. ago and was wondering if anyone knew a place I could go and fly a McD Super 80 sim, or a nice full-motion jet sim, to knock some of the rust off. Is there such a place, at a 'reasonable' cost? Just want to do it mainly for fun, and to see if I can still read an approach plate :)
Thanks

Contact Midnightmike on this forum. He can tell you about Alteon.

Alteon have a MD88 simulator in Long Beach & Miami, also, there is a MD83 simulator in Dallas.

PanAm also has a MD83 simulator in Miami

Alteon in Long Beach has great sims. Flew the MD-11, Md-90, 717. Great prices and EXCELLENT staff. Midnight Mike will take care of you.

Be careful with your money...just renting sim time will not get you current. You must establish that currency under a FAR 142 program or an approved air carrier program (121/135) using a simulator. I would recommend reading FAR 61.57 (I think that is the reg) and also referring to the Aviation Inspectors Handbook 8400.10. If you were furloughed as a first officer the only currency you are lacking would be landing currency, if you have only been furloughed six months. Be sure you will get the benefit of the 142 training center before spending any money.

Just an opinion and you know what those are like.

semperfido, the answer to your question, if you bother to care to read it, is within the question of the original poster, JetDriver.

A super 80 is the American Airlines variant of the WSCoD.
