What does the + or - indicate if depicted on a VFR Sectional for Class B Airspace floor?
(i.e. +05)

Where does this occur? I've never seen that. Are there any indications on the legend of the sectional?

I believe its AGL figure. I have only seen it around the NY Bravo. Look at JFK, first ring outside of SFC. it should say +05 500 ft agl figure to go down the coast.

The - means does not include that altitude. Meaning -30 means 2999.99999 ft is the ceiling. Look at Burke Lake front OH

I can't find it anywhere in the FAR/AIM. I did read somewhere, where it showed a -30 where it said that meant "up to but not including 3000"! I keep thinking it might mean "not including 500 and above"! I would like to find a reference somewhere. This was asked on a CFI Oral and using the NY Sectional and NY Bravo.

Check the chart legend under the Airport Traffic Service and Airspace Information section - it states the answer in parentheses next to the Class D ceiling height....of course, that's for Class D...I assume it means the same for Class B, but now I'm actually not sure - can't find a reference for +/- at Class B airspace

Another guy found it......there is an example of Class B out in the W-105 area of the chart that explains the + for NY Class B.
