Headed to FSI MCO for Encore type in August. Anyone have favorite hotel, restaurants, etc. Also any complaints with training? Thanks

MCO Courtyard, Renaissance, Hilton Garden Inn, Residence Inn, etc. Any of these is roughly 5-8 minutes from FSI and most if not all offer rates through FSI and/or Cessna.

Orlando Ale House is just up the road on Semoran and has good but cheap food & brews.

Residence was nice, but no pool. Think all the other do. Why study at a desk when you have a pool? Shuttle runs from all the hotels to FSI if you arent being furnished a vehicle. Boiler hit the nail on the head with Ale House. Just not sure the shuttle will drop you there. Congrats! Think you'll really like that bird.

I think the Courtyard is fairly new. Across Semoran is the full service Marriott and it has a nice pool. The TVL rate at the Marriott is usually pretty cheap. They turned the tennis courts into a parking lot but you can play at the Holiday Inn court. There is a new Bonefish Grill & steak house - Longhorn? next to the Courtyard.

World Quest Resort is the only place to stay while training in the orlando ares.
Since you will be there for 2 weeks you will love the extra space 2 and 3 bed rooms with a full kitchen along with a huge pool and a gym.
But the greatest deal is the price 112/day and they wave the cleaning fees if you stay longer the 3 nights.

I was there last year for a CJ3 type. I was pretty happy with the training, no complaints from me. All of my instructors (ground school and sim) had time in the airplane, which was nice. I've heard this is not always the case. I really liked the GFS sims, particularly since we were allowed unlimited access to them.

I stayed in the Renaissance, which is across the street from the Courtyard. There's no self serve laundry at the Renaissance, but you will have access to the facilities at the Courtyard.

There's some pretty good options for eating around there... My favorite place was the "Eastern Pearl" Chinese restaurant, as well as the "Brick and Fire" pizza place. Both are within walking distance of the hotel. There's a TGIF that's very close as well, though I hate chains and mostly avoided it.

Most airline crews, at least us, stay at the holiday inn select, which is pretty decent and a hooters right behind for great beer......er food.

I go there every 6 months for rec in the encore, the center manager is great, the Encore PM is a good guy and all the instructors are good. Obviously some are better than others but no complaints.

Last time I was at the Orlando Airport Hooters it had some of the hottest women I've ever seen at any other Hooters, bar none. It's on the north side of the field off of Semoran, can't miss it. The Orlando Ale House previously mentioned also gets my vote too.
