CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. - Winter weather was to blame for delaying the first Skybus flight out of the Charlotte County Airport. The discount airline had to wait two hours to take off from Columbus, Ohio so crews could de-ice it!
Once it touched down in Charlotte, people including a crew from WINK News boarded for the first Skybus flight out of Southwest Florida.
Skybus does things a little different:
No seat assignments for passengers.
You have to pay for your food and drinks.
And the CEO Ken Giles wears Mardi Gras beads! But he says there is only one thing that sets his airline apart. “We love our people, employees and customers,” Said Giles.
Skybus plans to add service from Charlotte County to the Boston area and Greensboro, North Carolina in a few months.
