Anyone know who operates F50/900's in the Boisie area? I heard an old friend was flying a "falcon three-holer" out there. Thanks in advance.TC

You know, this must be what it was like when your telephone was on a party line...

If you must know, Agave breath, I worked with a few guys up in DBQ at my first airline job. This individual was at EAL, PanAm and was later furloughed from Ryan. Not exactly a stellar career.

He decided to take a King Air job in BOI(where he was from) and fly there and have access to his parent's house at Sun Valley and numerous trout streams.

Anyway, another friend from those days told me he had moved up to bigger equipment and I wondered who he might be working for.

Are you satisfied now? TC

P.S.--If you get to SBA or LAX Friday or Sat., let me know I'll be cooling my heels there.

I think it's Boise Cascade and/or Albertson's your talking about. There was a thread on BOI operators many moons ago that had some good info.

I was trying to get my foot in the door there last year but landed a better job in SoCal.

Have fun in SBA. Take the short drive over to the Natural Cafe and get some fish tacos.

Party? Where? What time?

If you must know, Agave breath,

Where's the limes?

Going to work on Thursday. Wouldn't mind getting to the west coast this tour.
Fish tacos sound like a winner!

HMR--Is the Natural Cafe the one that you order from the window and sit outside? I had a really good burger there not too long ago.

XTW--I'll call you this weekend.TC

You are correct about both. All pilots and mx are employed by Boise Corp.. Boise and Albertsons share crews, mx, hangar (albertsons owns the hangar), etc.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the future. Boise Corp has sold most, if not all the forest products division to a company in Canada. They are changing their name to Office Max. The office products division is operated out of Chicago. When I was there, atleast one trip per week involved a ferry from BOI to Dupage, than you operated for a few days, only to ferry back and the end of the trip. That was 6 hours of empty a/c flying around. I would venture a guess that the Boise flight department will move east and force Albertsons to staff their own a/c either with people on the property now, or hire fresh.

AA717driver,
Natural Cafe is on the opposite side of the street and closer to the airport (if I'm thinking of the same good burger spot you are). You can throw a dart at a map and find good food in SBA.

Mach None,
I was wondering about that myself when I heard the Office Max deal. I'm headed up this week. I'll post if I hear anything.

The threat of moving the flight department or worse, shutting it down and going with a fractional or contracting some of the flying out of Chicago with a fractional. Made me nervous. That is a big reason why I left there. That and a job offer with Alaska.

I was only interested in the job because it allowed me to pursue my true passion: log rolling on Payette Lake (that's me in the avatar). Then I remembered it gets cold nine months out of the year.

I have been snowed upon in McCall on July 4th.

But HMR, when the lake's frozen over the log is much more steady. Besides, I really know what (who) your true passion is up at the lake. (She's the cute redhead that took the picture.):D
