Got a 7 y/o niece that wants to be a pilot and fly the stuff I do. I'm not sure how I made her idol list, but whatever works for her. For Christmas, I will be taking her on her first flight in a small aircraft, but I'd also like to get her a flight sim program.

Has anyone flown the EMB-145 add-ons for FSX or X-Plane? Which one is closer to the real aircraft in terms of handling?

Thanks!

"7 y/o niece" huh....

Careful, she might be your captain someday, if she doesn't become a ballerina, a doctor, and what was it last week. . . oh yes, or a firewoman. She keeps coming back to pilot, though, poor kid!

Unless her parents have a super computer I suggest not getting FSX. It did not run at all on my desktop and I have heard many other people having problems with it. I still think FS2004 is the best flight sim out there and Project Opensky makes a great freeware version of the ERJ 145. I even found decent panel and sound files for it too on www.avsim.com.
